My Perfect Omega - Chapter 32
As she was lost in thought for a moment, the bank manager spoke to her.
“He was a very stubborn man. But he was fair and as strong as a tree root. The current Count Keller has inherited his character. Bloodlines, it seems, cannot be denied.”
Leila realized from his joking tone that he was genuinely concerned about her. Being blind did not mean she was unaware of people. In fact, her other senses allowed her to grasp a person’s character and intentions quite well.
“…What would be the fastest way to get to the Keller estate from the capital?”
“The fastest way is to arrange travel with a guild headed in that direction. It’s quite a safe method as well.”
“Oh, that makes sense.”
“Please wait a moment.”
The bank manager pulled out some stationery and began writing something. After composing three sealed letters, he wrote down addresses on a memo and handed it to Anna, explaining.
“These are trading companies that will help you without needing to reveal your identity, thanks to my introduction. Hand them any of these letters, and they will assist you.”
“…Why are you helping us so much?”
Leila couldn’t help but ask, uneasy about his kindness.
He replied promptly, “My first love was your mother.”
“My… mother?”
“Yes. It was an unrequited love, and your mother never knew.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever heard that before.”
Whether his words were true or not, Leila wanted to believe him just because he knew her beloved mother. Wanting to trust someone was a feeling she hadn’t had in a long time, leaving her unsure how to react.
“When your mother transferred this property into your name, she asked me to ensure it would be processed swiftly if her daughter ever came to claim it. She also asked me to help you if you seemed to need it.”
Hearing the bank manager’s words, Leila felt her eyes sting. She had thought her tears had long dried up, but they still seemed to linger in her heart. She tried to speak, but only her lips moved.
“So, if you ever need help, please come to me anytime. I’ve waited quite a while for you, Lady Leila.”
Hearing the affectionate nickname only her mother had used, she could no longer hold back. She wiped her eyes with trembling hands, hot tears falling onto her fingertips.
“Miss…”
Watching this unfold, Anna was choked up and kept silent, knowing her tears would not help. Leila silently wept, her tears flooding out after a long time, drenching her heart that had been dry for so long.

“…What business could they have at the bank that’s taking so long?”
“If they couldn’t get into the VIP room, it would take quite a while to process.”
“Hmm, did we ever do business with Martin Bank?”
“Yes, we didn’t restrict ourselves to just one bank. It was something the late Duke insisted upon.”
“He always said to diversify.”
Feeling increasingly impatient as he talked with Philip, Lucas thought it was taking too long.
“Go check on them.”
“Yes, Your Grace.”
Philip got out of the carriage and went into the bank. After a short while, he came rushing back, looking pale. He climbed into the carriage and spoke with a stricken face.
“Your Grace! Miss Este and her maid have already left.”
“…What?”
Lucas’s mind went blank for a moment, unable to process the unexpected news.
“They left… without me? Where to?”
He mumbled helplessly, unable to comprehend this unprecedented situation.
“Why?”
For the first time in his life, Lucas had encountered a woman who fled from him.
He was soon engulfed in a fiery rage.
It was a deeply wounding experience to his pride.
