My Perfect Omega - Chapter 34
“Anna, this isn’t the real plan.”
“…Then why are you saying this?”
“My mother always said plans never go as intended. She always told me to prepare for failure.”
Recalling the quiet but never weak lady of the house, Anna nodded in agreement.
“Yes, the Madam was indeed a strong person.”
“Yes, I think so too. So, think of this as the next best thing to avoid the worst. If you meet my uncle and tell him, it will give me another chance.”
Although Anna wasn’t entirely convinced, she didn’t argue further. She was determined to do anything her lady wanted.
“Alright, Miss. But this is only for the worst-case scenario. If everything goes well, you must come with me, understood?”
“Of course.”
Leila smiled brightly at Anna’s words, feeling reassured. She then took a pouch of gold coins from another pocket and handed it to Anna.
“Can you meet the guild representative for me? Show them the letter we received from the bank manager, and it should be easy to get in. Use this money to pay them.”
“Are you not coming with me?”
“I don’t think it’s necessary to show any weaknesses by going in together.”
Anna felt frustrated by her words. Leila was already so impressive and beautiful, but the world didn’t see her that way.
“Alright, I’ll be quick. Stay right here.”
“Yes, I will.”
“Don’t go anywhere else!”
Anna, after making sure, hurried into the guild’s building. Leila stepped slightly aside and leaned against the wall, tapping her cane.
She let out a deep sigh, feeling a mixture of relief and exhaustion, as if everything had finally come to an end. The tension that had made her body stiff gradually released.
As she stood there in a daze, a familiar voice reached her ears.
“Huh? Why is my sister here?”
Hearing Timo’s voice, someone she didn’t want to meet, Leila felt relieved she had instructed Anna firmly. Of course, luck never came easily for her.
No, she had already had enough luck. She had managed to hand over the money to Anna and found a place for her to stay safely.
“What? Ignoring me again?”
As Timo’s voice lowered, Leila let out a dry laugh.
“Oh? Did you just laugh?”
Timo was stunned to see Leila’s mocking smile. Why was she acting so out of character and annoying him?
“Are you crazy, Sister?”
“Who knows, maybe I’m crazier than you?”
“Wow, is this really our eldest sister? But there aren’t many blind people, are there?”
Leila, having heard such remarks daily since losing her sight, ignored him completely. Her expression showed no sign of being affected, which unsettled Timo slightly.
He wondered if her hearing was also impaired.
“But weren’t you forbidden from going out? Did you escape secretly? How?”
The word “escape” amused her, but Leila’s mood sank as she thought of Lucas. He had always appeared whenever she was isolated and unable to escape alone.
She felt guilty for leaving without a word to him. However, she had given him her mother’s violin, which she treasured like a part of herself. It wouldn’t be much of a consolation, but perhaps he could give it to another violinist he supported.
Wouldn’t it be better for the instrument to find a new owner and be played again?
“Hmm, so you really did escape.”
Leila didn’t bother responding to Timo. She simply stood quietly with her eyes lowered. An indescribable, intriguing aura surrounded her.
Moreover, there was a subtle, sweet scent in the air. One of Timo’s friends, watching from the side, quietly muttered.
“Oh, right. Your flawed sister is an omega, isn’t she?”
His voice was filled with lewd intent, making it uncomfortable for anyone listening. There were still those who viewed omegas as lowly, much like their father.
