My Perfect Omega - Chapter 40
Sarah mused.
“I want to praise the old me. It was the right decision not to kill you but to damage a part of your body instead. Thanks to you, I’ll receive a mine named after me, fufu…”
With a small, delighted laugh, Sarah gently stroked Leila’s cheek and said,
“You must be tired, so get some rest.”
Despite knowing Leila couldn’t see her, Sarah crinkled her eyes and acted like a caring mother. Sarah then leisurely left the room. Only after hearing the door close did Leila let her body go limp.
Slumping back into the sofa, she gasped for air and clutched her chest. She had believed she lost her sight due to the fever from her manifestation. Though it was painful, it was something she had resigned herself to.
But now, realizing that her life had been ruined by someone’s scheme made her heart ache terribly.
“Hah, ugh, aaagh!”
The joy of safely getting Anna away shattered into pieces. Feeling like she was sinking into a deep pit, Leila lost consciousness, wishing time would stop as she closed her eyes.
It felt as if she was endlessly falling into perfect darkness, devoid of any light.

“What, who’s here?”
The Emperor, who was in the bedroom with the Empress, spoke in a baffled tone at the chamberlain’s words.
“It’s… the Duke of Bavenberg earnestly requests to see Your Majesty, so I had no choice but to disturb Your Majesty’s rest. Please forgive me.”
“I’m still awake, so it’s fine. But for him to come at this hour…”
The Empress, surprised, gently held the Emperor’s arm and spoke kindly.
“Go quickly, Your Majesty. There must be a reason he’s doing something he’s never done before.”
“That’s right… that child never acts without a reason.”
The Emperor, though worried, was also extremely curious. Was it about that issue if he came to see him instead of his parents? Was he so desperate because he hadn’t received an answer yet? Or did he really like that woman?
Seeing a side of his nephew he had never seen before, the Emperor hurriedly put on a robe and headed to the private drawing room. Lucas, who was sitting on the sofa with his head lowered, looked up at the sound of footsteps.
For a moment, the Emperor flinched unknowingly when his eyes met his nephew’s. The fierce light emanating from Lucas’s eyes resembled a beast more than a human.
“Oh… right. An alpha should naturally be like that.”
Lucas, who was a hyper-dominant alpha even among the few dominant alphas, had always been a docile and exemplary child. Because of this, the Emperor had tested him multiple times with magic tools to confirm that his nephew was indeed a hyper-dominant alpha.
That Lucas was now showing such a fierce expression because of a woman.
The Emperor had thoroughly investigated the woman his nephew had mentioned in a short period. He had heard rumors, but he knew very little about Leila, a hyper-dominant omega.
There were countless rumors that she had been chosen by the devil and therefore abandoned by God, losing her sight. These rumors did not mention that she was a hyper-dominant omega, or that she was incredibly beautiful, or that she had exceptional musical talent.
The focus was solely on her being a woman abandoned by God and robbed of her sight. The Emperor realized once again the superficiality of rumors through this opportunity.
“Your Majesty.”
“Yes, speak. If this matter is not important enough to wake me at this late hour, even my beloved nephew will face punishment.”
Though he spoke with authority, part of his words still retained the tone of an uncle speaking to his nephew. Feeling grateful for this, Lucas decided to make proper use of his own power.
He had realized one thing for certain.
Regardless of the reason, he wanted to make Leila his own. Even if it meant keeping her as a music box doll playing the violin in front of him for the rest of his life, he did not want to hand her over to anyone else.
Yes, this is my true intention.
