My Perfect Omega - Chapter 41
“Your Majesty is the father of the Camorr Empire.”
“That’s true. But it doesn’t mean I have to be kind to all my children.”
At the Emperor’s words, Lucas thought of Leila again. A woman who had grown up without being treated as a daughter by her own parents, who had to marry as if she were being sold off without a proper match.
“But if there is a wronged child… would you turn away from them as well?”
“The Emperor’s sleep is not just rest, Duke. It is my personal time to wrap up the day, and it is almost like an extension of my duties to get sufficient rest to gain the energy for the next day. You have used this precious time, but what if you fail to convey your opinion properly?”
Prompted by the Emperor, Lucas got to the point.
“I cannot turn away. Regardless of her being a hyper-dominant omega, I want to prevent a noble lady from entering a dishonorable marriage. Sending her to a scoundrel who has already replaced his wife three times…”
As Lucas spoke, his anger rose. No matter how flawed a noble lady was, he couldn’t bear to see her forced into such a miserable marriage, sacrificed for her family against her will.
His deep amethyst eyes blazed like fire. The Emperor was inwardly impressed by this new side of his nephew. It was the first time he had seen him obsess over someone, making him genuinely curious.
“…Hmm, I’d like to meet her.”
“Please don’t just meet her, Your Majesty. Show your arrangement.”
“My arrangement. Can you handle it?”
“At first, I thought it would be beneficial for both me and her. But now, my thoughts have changed.”
The Emperor’s lips curled slightly at Lucas’s words. It seemed his nephew already knew why he hadn’t given an answer. He had noticed that Lucas had initially brought up marriage with Leila for reasons other than affection.
That was why the Emperor had delayed his response. But now, he saw Lucas differently. He admired his nephew’s possessive nature, befitting a true alpha.
“How have your thoughts changed?”
“Now, I genuinely want to make her part of my family. No matter how it started, I do not dislike Miss Leila despite her blindness. In fact, I’m starting to like her more.”
Moved by Lucas’s sincere answer, the Emperor slapped his knee and replied.
“I will write an edict. Deliver it personally to Count Este.”
Finally hearing the answer he wanted, Lucas stood up quickly and approached the Emperor. Kneeling on one knee, he bowed deeply and answered loudly.
“Yes, I will carry out your orders!”

Although the breakfast times varied among the nobles, the Este family usually had breakfast after the sun was fully up. While everyone except Leila was having a harmonious breakfast, the uninvited guest Lucas arrived.
Benjamin, though annoyed by Lucas’s frequent visits, was pleased to have another chance to humiliate him and greeted him warmly despite having told him not to come. Lucas, wasting no time, got out of the carriage and spoke loudly at the entrance where Benjamin, Sarah, Amelie, and Timo were gathered.
“Listen, Count Este! His Majesty the Emperor has personally issued an edict. Read it here and confirm its contents!”
At Lucas’s proclamation, Benjamin’s face turned pale. He had not expected the Emperor to intervene directly. He hurriedly knelt before Lucas and extended his hands.
Sarah began to worry that things were getting out of hand. Amelie couldn’t take her eyes off Lucas’s dazzling appearance even from the morning, and Timo, who had been enthusiastically badmouthing Lucas, couldn’t confront him about the beating he received the previous day.
