My Perfect Omega - Chapter 64
Even this small gesture seemed to provide Leila with great comfort. It might not be enough to compensate for the years she had lived, but just knowing someone was comforting her gave her strength.
It gave her the courage to share a secret she had never told Anna. Even if it might not seem like a big deal to him.
Hugging him, she hesitated several times before finally speaking.
“In truth, I have a secret.”
“…A secret?”
The heaviness in her tone made Lucas tense. Could it be that she had another alpha in her heart?
She was at an age where she might have already experienced her first love. What if she asked to be sent to her first love alpha right now? Of course, he had no intention of letting her go, but it was best to hear her out first.
“What kind of secret?”
In a slightly lowered voice, Leila, trying to hide her nervousness, revealed her secret.
“To be honest… I’m not completely blind.”
“What?”
Lucas, who had naturally assumed it was about another alpha, was completely taken aback by her unexpected words.
Not completely blind?
“…Then, can you see me?”
“No. That’s not what I meant…”
Leila, who had been leaning against him, moved away for a moment and stared into the air. It was a spot where sunlight was streaming in like waves.
“I can see light. It’s very blurry, though.”
“Ah…”
With her additional explanation, Lucas slowly nodded in understanding. It was certainly something to celebrate if she could see, but wouldn’t that mean she had been deceiving him all this time?
Lucas, who would have been disappointed if Leila had actually been able to see all along, spoke with a relieved expression.
“If you can see light, it seems you’re not completely blind. Have you ever tried to treat it?”
At his question, Leila was momentarily at a loss for words. She had never thought about it before. She had simply assumed she could only see light and never considered that it might be connected to the possibility of treatment.
Lucas, in turn, was taken aback by her reaction. Had she really never thought about it? But he couldn’t voice his thoughts. Leila looked as if her world was crumbling.
Instead of saying anything, he just hugged her. The way her body trembled slightly in his arms made him feel deeply sympathetic. He wanted to make her happy.
But Lucas, who had never done anything for a woman before, struggled for a while before finally coming up with an idea.
“You said you can see light?”
“…Yes.”
“Then let’s go somewhere for a bit.”
“What?”
Leila’s eyes widened, tears still glistening in them, at the sudden suggestion. Lucas, who was looking into her now more beautiful tear-stricken eyes, was pleased with his idea.
“I’m sure you’ll like it.”
He confidently rang a silver bell. This wasn’t an ordinary bell but a magical device that directly contacted the chief butler and the head maid.
Shortly after, both the chief butler and the head maid arrived. Still holding Leila, Lucas gave his orders as if he had been waiting for this moment.
“Emma, we’re going out immediately. Get Leila ready. Oliver, prepare the carriage and gather items for donation.”
Hearing about the donation, both the butler and the maid instantly knew their destination. Without questioning, they bowed and answered.
“Yes, Master.”
“Miss, if you’ll excuse me for a moment.”
The maid approached with a happy face and gently took Leila’s hand. Emma led her to Leila’s prepared dressing room. Lucas also finished getting ready with the butler’s assistance.
Leila, led by Emma’s hand, quickly got ready. Curious about her appearance, she cautiously touched the top of her head. Watching her, Emma spoke.
“You look very beautiful right now. This is a bonnet that’s very fashionable these days. With floral decorations on the side, it looks both elegant and lovely!”
Following Emma’s enthusiastic explanation, Leila carefully checked everything she was wearing. Despite what might have been a tedious task, Emma kindly explained everything.
“Emma, thank you.”
“Oh, don’t mention it. It’s my job. And it’s something I’ve really looked forward to.”
Emma spoke without hiding her happiness. Leila felt a stirring in her heart, wondering if Anna had also wanted to dress her up like this.
Holding Emma’s hand, Leila returned to the sitting room. As soon as she came out, her hand was passed to Lucas. His hand was firm and warm, giving her a great sense of reassurance. Leila shivered slightly from a swelling emotion.
“Shall we go then?”
