Nighttime Encounters - Chapter 7
A familiar breeze brushed against Rosia’s cheeks in confusion.
[Rosia.]
Luperne, who had fled alone, unaware that Rosia had been captured, returned.
[Gather your magic immediately.]
Rosia’s eyes sharpened into focus as she heard Luperne’s voice in her ear.
[Magic won’t work.]
“Huh?”
Rosia unintentionally let out a high-pitched gasp, mixed with a sigh.
The man’s eyes narrowed as he nuzzled her earlobe.
He seemed intent on not giving Rosia time to think, as he nibbled on her earlobe and quickly moved his tongue.
It was only then that she clearly understood the purpose of the moist, velvety tongue.
The onyx earring hanging from her ear.
The man had undoubtedly recognized that the black onyx earring was an enchanted item that altered one’s appearance.
So, he was immobilizing her with his hand and trying to take the earring out with his mouth. If the earring came off, her true appearance would be revealed.
Realizing the danger she was in, Rosia swiftly gathered her magic.
Not like this!
Gritting her teeth, Rosia twisted to free herself from his grasp.
As she strained her wrists, the man’s grip on them grew even stronger.
Rosia used her captive wrist as leverage and pressed her foot with all her might, using his strength to her advantage.
“Ugh.”
The man let out a pained groan from the unexpected intense pain.
His face contorted into a grimace as the bones in his foot shattered.
Rosia’s ear, which had been bitten by him, was free. His grip on her wrist weakened.
Rosia took advantage of the moment to quickly get out of his grip.
Seizing the moment, Rosia swiftly twisted his arm, pushing him against the wall with force and rushing away to a safe distance.
[Just now, your magic flowed through the wrist he had held..
Rosia glared at the man as she listened to Luperne’s explanation.
The heat that had enveloped her ear was gone, replaced by cold air
The lingering moist sensation of his touch on her earlobe was uncomfortably vivid.
Enraged, as she had been spellbound by him and had let her guard down, anger surged within her.
Rosia’s red-hot ear tingled as she picked up Luperne’s explanation.
[That man seems to have the ability to absorb magic].
Rosia scowled, and the black cloth concealing her face twitched.
Ah, so that’s why her magic didn’t work as expected.
She recalled Luperne’s explanation and began to gather magic in her right hand.
[Rosia. I think it’s best if you go back for now. Go back and…….]
Intense turmoil swirled in her black irises.
When Rosia ran away from the man, it was to avoid causing trouble and complications. She hadn’t fled because she was afraid.
But why was she letting him escape so easily even after biting her ear?
Oh, no, she had a reputation to uphold.
[Rosia!]
Rosia pursed her lips in determination and leaped high, forming a massive sword out of wind.
“Huph!”
The man jerked his head up to look at Rosia.
As their eyes met, Rosia slammed her sword down with murderous force.
The man quickly rolled and dodged out of the way of her blade.
A gust of wind swept through the space where he had stood, digging a deep hole in the ground and sending debris flying.
The man looked at Rosia in disbelief.
“You’re really chasing me down like this?”
As he tried to pull himself up to fight back, Rosia pulled the air around him.
Space rumbled as if distorted.
Rosia compressed the gathered air, turning it into a solid mass, and then let it drop over his body.
With no time to dodge, he was swept back to the ground by a heavy gust of wind.
Just as he pinned her to the wall, she pinned him to the ground.
“Ha.”
The man let out a ragged breath, his chest crushed by the dense mass of wind.
Rosia strode over to the man, muffling his low groan.
Approaching the man’s head, she knelt and peered down at his face.
Their faces seemed to be upside down, like two inhabitants of different worlds.
“I thought you were scared, desperate to get away,” the man said, releasing a breathy laugh and closing his eyes deeply to manage the shock coursing through his body.
Despite that, the corners of his mouth lifted slightly.
He found his situation somewhat amusing.
“I never thought you’d fight back like this.”
The man slowly opened his eyes and looked up into the glittering black eyes above him.
So much so that their eyes locked together.
“Miss Trinity, the Rogue. I think I’ve seen enough of your skills.”
The man showed no sign of being intimidated by the wind.
If anything, he taunted Rosia, poking fun at her.
“Let’s put the formalities aside and go to the guard post together, shall we?”
Rosia, however, ignored his words and leaned down by her waist.
“Although, attacking a member of the Imperial Knights will be considered an attack on the Empire and will result in severe punishment,” he stated.
Rosia’s shadow, cast over the man, deepened.
Her tightly bound hair flowed to one side like a curtain.
As their faces drew closer, Rosia whispered sweetly into the man’s ear, their cheeks nearly touching.
“Right now, surrender willingly,” he said softly.
There was a tension in the air, even more pronounced now that he was pinned to the ground.
“I’m willing to let bygones be bygones and treat your attack as if it never happened,” he continued.
Rosia’s small lips parted, and she immediately took the man’s ear into her mouth.
The man’s arrogant warning dissipated with a sharp intake of breath.
“What are you doing?”
The man went rigid in shock, his breath caught in his throat.
As her velvety tongue lightly brushed his earlobe, her sharp teeth bit down hard.
