The rabbit thought she had successfully helped relieve the estrus-stressed human with her brave attempt.

Normally, anyone without a suitable mate in heat would become sensitive and temperamental.

She had tried to discreetly help relieve Teia’s s****l desires while he slept, but unfortunately, luck wasn’t on her side — she ended up getting caught by him.

The rabbit had actually planned not to return to her human form.

In her human form, her body always felt heavier and, strangely, tired much faster than when she was a rabbit.

Moreover, humans who found out her true identity, without exception, only ever tormented her more.

Even the guild master, the moment he found out she was a werebeast chimera, had fed her strange, unidentified drugs and used her at his whim.

Among the citizens of the Empire, the fear of werebeast chimeras was common, and that fear often manifested as indiscriminate violence — even toward a rabbit.

At first, wary that she might go berserk, humans kept their distance, but once they realized that her fiercest resistance was simply biting with her sharp teeth, they beat her without hesitation.

‘Here, they give me lots of good food and don’t hit me.’
Though Teia had been a bit rough during their first encounter, compared to humans who outright beat her, he was much better.

Sometimes he would grab her roughly or press down on her clumsily, but at least Teia had never, so far, beaten or abused her to the point of drawing blood.

If Teia, overwhelmed by the frustrations of estrus, hadn’t looked at her as if seriously contemplating whether to kill her,
the rabbit would have truly preferred to stay in her rabbit form and never be discovered.

‘But he already caught me. Nothing I can do about it!’
Since she was already caught but neither killed nor driven away, the rabbit decided to think positively.

Helping him through his estrus was a bit grueling — enough to leave her throat raw — but she had heard that in heat, creatures lost sight of everything else.

‘Yeah, yeah. I can handle this much.’

The rabbit, surprisingly optimistic, decided she would stay a long, long time in Teia’s cozy rabbit hutch.

“You.”

Of course, there was now the slight task of keeping Teia in a good mood.

At the sound of his voice, the rabbit hurriedly tried to hop out of the hutch but tripped on the edge and rolled forward, doing a somersault toward Teia.

She was about to roll right off the desk, so Teia caught her with his palm, stopping her like a ball.

Squeak!

The rabbit, dizzy and dazed, soon calmed down and nuzzled into Teia’s palm.

She knew very well that he liked the soft, squishy feel of her body.
Even though the rabbit sometimes seemed slow, she was unnervingly quick at reading his mood, and Teia looked at her with an incredulous gaze.

Louis, unaware of her true identity, simply watched them with a pleased smile, finding the sight of the young master bonding with his pet rabbit heartwarming.

He felt a twinge of regret — he should have let Teia raise a pet much earlier.

He had once heard that children who grew up with animals were healthier both mentally and physically.

Had Teia been able to spend more leisurely time with animals from a younger age, perhaps his chronic headaches might have improved — it was a vague, wistful speculation.

Even the most esteemed doctors had failed to determine the cause of Teia’s headaches, merely giving perfunctory explanations like “It must be psychological stress.”

In the end, Teia had given up on treatment, relying only on potent painkillers to endure.

Though it was a bit late, since Teia was already fully grown, Louis eagerly hoped that maybe even now, having a pet might have a positive effect.

“But until when do you plan on calling it like that?”

“This little thing?”

“Yes. Since it’s Your Highness’s pet rabbit, shouldn’t it have a proper name?”

Pet rabbit.

At Louis’s words, Teia paused in thought.
There was probably a name she used as a human, but he didn’t want to use a name someone else had given her.

At the mention of a name, the rabbit perked up, showering him with affection and sparkling expectant eyes.

“……Dust?”

But Teia’s instincts rebelled against fulfilling expectations just because they were shown.

He suddenly remembered how filthy and grimy the rabbit had looked at first.

When he called her with that lazy, meaningless name, the rabbit shook her head furiously in vehement refusal.

“Then Great King Dust?”

Unfortunately, the more someone begged him not to do something, the more Teia wanted to do it…

Despite Teia’s childish behavior, Louis couldn’t help but smile.
He recalled how young Teia had been — carrying only the title of Grand Duke, driven out of the Imperial Palace, managing a ruined domain, and building it up into a flourishing duchy.

Though Teia had grown up splendidly, there was always a lingering sadness when Louis thought of him.

Now, thanks to this sudden pet rabbit, Louis could finally glimpse the innocent side of His Highness, and he was deeply moved.
