No Such Thing as a Chaste Man! Just Give It Ten Tries! - Chapter 55
“Did the conversation go well?”
“Well… I’m not sure if ‘well’ is the right word, but I did say everything I needed to say.”
“You worked hard.”
With those words, Seo-ah placed a soft kiss on Ephelinus’s lips, as if sealing the moment with a punctuation mark.
Still holding her in his arms, Ephelinus began walking. Members of the Holy Kingdom, witnessing their somewhat audacious display, quickly averted their eyes while whispering amongst themselves. However, neither Seo-ah nor Ephelinus paid them any mind.
Since emerging from their days-long seclusion after the banquet, the two had been inseparable. Holding hands, linking arms, Seo-ah climbing onto Ephelinus’s back, or him carrying her—it had all become a common sight.
“Is the Holy Emperor angry?”
“He is always angry by nature.”
“Did he tell you to leave the priesthood immediately?”
“Not quite yet.”
“Do you want to leave the priesthood, or not?”
“Hmm… that depends on where you’d like to live.”
“If I decide to stay in the Holy Kingdom, you’ll remain. If I don’t, you’ll leave the priesthood and come with me?”
As if to confirm, Ephelinus smiled softly. It was a calm, serene smile that always captivated Seo-ah.
Without hesitation, she leaned down and placed another kiss on his lips.
“I’ve been thinking. I’ll challenge the Elder Council and get myself a noble title. What’s an ‘Honorary Consul’? Everyone knows they only gave me that because they want to get rid of me. It’s obvious.”
“Then I’ll establish the House of Jang in Genève… and I’ll make you my consort.”
“Haha…”
“Then, if we have children, they won’t be Alifes—they’ll be Jangs. Isn’t that right?”
As Seo-ah chattered on, Ephelinus suddenly stopped walking.
Perhaps because he had always lived as a priest, or perhaps because of the Holy Emperor’s commands, he had never envisioned having children. He had vaguely assumed it would be the same with Seo-ah.
But a child with the surname Jang… Seo-ah’s child… her family…
The thought stirred something unfamiliar in him.
Lost in contemplation, he didn’t immediately respond. Noticing his silence, Seo-ah tilted her head and peered into his face. Her sharp brown eyes glimmered, as though she were trying to read his expression.
“…Your Holiness?”
Seeing his lack of response, she teasingly extended her tongue and gave his tightly pressed lips a playful lick.
“Haa…”
A deep sigh escaped Ephelinus as a shadow of emotion crossed his face. Tightening his hold around Seo-ah, he pulled her closer and rested his head against her shoulder. A low, weary groan rumbled from his throat.
“Why? Did I say something ignorant about this world again?”
“I… want you. Now.”
Seo-ah stifled a laugh at his straightforward confession.
“Even just thinking about you excites me. Holding you makes me harder. And now, kissing you… resisting is almost impossible.”
“Should we go somewhere? The underground prayer room is usually empty.”
“…I could never dishonor you in such a place.”
Resolutely, Ephelinus declared his stance. Then, taking a deep breath, he resumed walking. His strides were long and deliberate, but by the time he reached the end of the corridor, his steps had broken into a full sprint.
“If I carry you, we’ll get there faster.”
“I’m the one in a hurry, so let me handle this.”
“What if you tire yourself out?”
“With you in my arms, that’s impossible.”
Panting heavily, Ephelinus managed to gasp out the words.
“If you’re too worn out, I can handle it myself.”
Seo-ah teased, tightening her arms around his neck. She deliberately pressed her chest against him, ensuring he felt her soft curves.
Feeling it distinctly, Ephelinus quickened his pace even further.
The sight of the Holy Kingdom’s revered Saint sprinting across the garden with the Saintess clinging to him startled everyone who witnessed it. When they realized it was Ephelinus and Seo-ah, they merely clicked their tongues and looked away, already accustomed to such sights.
The reactions of others didn’t matter to him in the slightest. Only Seo-ah’s joyful laughter, echoing like music in his ears, filled his world.
As Ephelinus ran across the grassy expanse of the garden, his steps felt lighter than ever before.
The enormous question mark that had disrupted his life.
The enigma that had twisted the path of his righteous existence.
The anomaly that had brought vibrant color to his pristine, monochrome world.
His rebellion.
And now, the woman he had summoned from another dimension—the love of his life—was safely nestled in his arms.
—The End.
