No Such Thing as a Chaste Man! Just Give It Ten Tries! - Chapter 7
At first, she had persistently tried to persuade Ephelinus, confessing her feelings at least five times.
However, he had rebuffed each attempt, pointing out that she had once longed for the things she had left behind—like her smartphone, TikTok, and YouTube—and suggesting that Genève’s civilization was too backward for her to stay.
It wasn’t a situation where Seo-ah could just demand that the reverse summoning be canceled.
The ritual to send her back was essentially a kind of show orchestrated by the new united government of Genève after their liberation from the threat of the black dragon and the demon realm.
Although a grand victory celebration had already been held, they wanted to present something surreal before everyone’s eyes to declare the start of a new era.
And more importantly, the united government found Seo-ah’s presence somewhat burdensome.
She was an extraordinary figure: the saintess of Sol and savior of Genève who had defeated the black dragon, yet as a foreigner and someone who was hard to control, they weren’t quite sure how to handle her.
Seo-ah could feel that atmosphere all too well. Though she was deeply upset at the feeling of being discarded, she couldn’t openly criticize them, fearing that it might destabilize the peace she had helped to achieve. After all, as an outsider, she lacked any political backing.
The only person who could potentially speak for her to the united government was Ephelinus—the very person who had independently developed the reverse summoning ritual and was now insistent on carrying it out.
So, Seo-ah decided it was all or nothing. She planned to ruin the reverse summoning ritual as blatantly as possible so she could stay.
Fortunately, Priest Peter offered to help her and thoroughly analyzed the reverse summoning ritual.
“It’s the same as the summoning ritual that brought you here five years ago. Both the caster and the summoned must be pure. That’s why it was Lord Ephelinus, not the Holy Emperor, who performed the summoning ritual to bring you here. Of course, since Lord Ephelinus independently designed the reverse summoning, there might be slight differences, but… as for the summoned, the requirement of purity is certain.”
And that wasn’t all. Anyone involved in the ritual had to purify their body and mind through three days of fasting and abstinence. This included the caster, Seo-ah as the summoned, and even the offerings used in the ritual.
So, Seo-ah intended to make sure she was no longer pure enough to participate. If words couldn’t persuade him, she would use her actions.
Communicating physically had been her method during the three and a half years she spent in the black dragon expedition, so the decision wasn’t difficult. And if necessary, she had a way to weaken his resolve.
After all, she had the help of the best alchemist in Genève, her dwarven friend, Jenny.
With this bold resolve, Seo-ah set out to win Ephelinus over. She had tried to seduce him twice without success and had attempted again last night with one of Jenny’s inventions… but…
All of her attempts failed.
Including the times she had confessed and pleaded with him, she had now been rejected a total of eight times.
There was no time to dwell on the humiliation. Time was marching on, and the day of the reverse summoning ritual was now just a month away. Since she would have to enter the sanctuary five days before the ritual, Seo-ah was feeling increasingly desperate.
“Jenny, could you make a new potion that would be effective with just fluid contact? No need for direct… um, insertion, or mixed fluids…”
“You have no idea how hard alchemy is, do you? Your requests are getting more shameless.”
“Seo-ah, repeating the same approach might not be wise. I don’t know much about him, but if he’s that stubborn, he’ll probably find a way to avoid any… further intimacy.”
“But if I don’t do something, I’ll be separated from you both…”
“……”
“……”
At Seo-ah’s sulky words, the atmosphere grew heavy.
“Look, even if you can’t persuade the High Priest, there may be other ways, so don’t focus solely on that. Our Elder Council is planning to discuss it again with the united government.”
“Exactly. Romi Mountain also believes it’s a mistake for the government to insist on your return. That’s why the Dwarven Elder Council plans to send a representative to the capital to talk about it.”
“Right. You know how rare it is for our clans to agree on anything.”
“Yeah, I know. Thank you, truly.”
To lift the mood, Seo-ah’s two friends spoke in an exaggeratedly loud voice, and Seo-ah smiled gratefully.
But despite their words, they all understood that the representatives of the two clans alone might not be enough. The Elder Council of the united government already had dwarven and elven members, yet they still decided on her return. So, no matter how powerful the dwarves and elves were in Genève, the chances of the Council reversing its decision were slim.
They knew this, yet they still offered encouraging words to help ease Seo-ah’s worries.
They, too, wanted Seo-ah to stay in this world, no matter what.
And Seo-ah had no intention of disappointing them. If worse came to worst, she was prepared to stop holding back and fight however she could. However, as a saint and a hero who had saved the world, she preferred a peaceful solution.
The most effective solution also happened to be the one that would fulfill her personal wishes the most.
“There are so many beings in Genève who don’t want me to leave, so why is His Holiness the only one… Ugh, does he really think being handsome is enough?! I mean, he even seemed a little affected while touching me last night! Was it really so hard for him to go just a bit further?!”
“Um, maybe he’s… not into that? Have you checked?”
