No Such Thing as a Chaste Man! Just Give It Ten Tries! - Chapter 9
II.
One month before the reverse summoning ritual—
A grand banquet was held at the Sun Palace, now used as the headquarters of the New United Government.
It was to commemorate the historic day when, for the first time since the establishment of the New United Government—a republic—both the dwarven elders and the elven lords visited the capital simultaneously.
The true purpose of their visit was to attend the Senate session and urge a reconsideration of the saintess’s return.
However, the government chose to keep this internal conflict beneath the surface, only emphasizing the symbolic significance of their visit.
The Sun Palace was the perfect place to hold such a symbolic event.
It was the most magnificent palace in architectural history, built during the golden age of the old kingdom over a decade ago, before its downfall following the black dragon’s appearance.
In this luxurious space, created to honor a dynasty of humans, dwarves, elves, fairies, werewolves, and other races who shared Genève, all gathered to enjoy the banquet together, clearly promoting the ideals of the New United Government.
To that end, the government opened the entire Sun Palace grounds, except for office spaces, so that anyone could freely come and go through the gardens and the hall on the first floor of the central palace to enjoy the banquet atmosphere.
However, only the Grand Banquet Hall, where the main banquet was held, was accessible to the upper class, including human nobles and other officially invited dignitaries.
Seo-ah, of course, had also been invited to this banquet.
Although she rarely visited the capital, fearing she might offend the government, she couldn’t miss an occasion as meaningful as today.
After all, a large part of the peaceful scenes in modern Genève, where all races lived together, was due to Seo-ah, who had defeated the black dragon.
“Long live the Saintess of Sol!”
“Hail Lady Seo-ah Jang!”
“Glory to the Dragon Slayer!”
Because the gardens of the Sun Palace were open, a large crowd recognized Seo-ah as soon as she stepped down from the carriage of the Holy Kingdom’s procession, cheering in excitement.
Seo-ah followed behind Ephelinus, who was attending as the Holy Emperor’s representative, crossing the garden as she waved to the enthusiastic crowd with a lively smile—a sight she hadn’t seen since the victory march.
“Is that the hero, Lady Seo-ah?”
“I almost didn’t recognize her. She looked amazing last time in the Holy Knight’s uniform.”
“There’s supposed to be a ball at the banquet tonight, so she must have dressed up. That dress suits her so well. She looks just like a noble lady.”
Seo-ah, whose senses had become keen since coming to Genève, could hear every single comment about her appearance.
‘Do I look good? Am I pretty? It doesn’t look strange, right?’
Fortunately, the people’s reactions were very favorable, and Seo-ah held back her rising smile as she glanced at Ephelinus’s back, who was walking in front.
‘I hope I look beautiful in Your Holiness’s eyes.’
Today, Seo-ah was dressed in a proper gown.
She wore a corset, high heels, and even put on makeup.
It was the first time she had dressed up like this since coming to Genève.
When she was first summoned, she had been a minor, so she had no reason to attend banquets.
Afterward, for three and a half years, she wandered the rugged wilderness with the expedition team.
During the victory parade and the few days of festivities that followed, she had always worn the formal uniform of the Holy Order, fitting for her title as the Dragon Slayer.
But today was a day when there was no need for that attire. Or rather, even if there were, she needed to disregard it.
And that was because…
‘Seo-ah, this one… you must only use it at the most crucial moment.’
At this moment, Seo-ah had her trump card, Jenny’s latest invention, tucked in her pocket.
In other words, today was the day of the decisive battle.
Seo-ah felt the glass vial in her pocket pressing against her thigh as she checked her attire.
Her off-white silk dress, matched to the ceremonial colors of the Holy Kingdom, featured a heart-shaped neckline that left her shoulders and part of her chest exposed.
With her waist cinched by a corset, her chest was slightly lifted, creating a full and alluring curve that revealed a deep cleavage.
Furthermore, the dress had an overall slim silhouette, accentuating Seo-ah’s toned and curvaceous figure.
Her black hair, usually tied back in a ponytail, was styled in a high updo, highlighting her slender neck.
She added a bold sapphire choker, making her vibrant skin tone even more radiant.
To top it off, there was a seductive makeup look, crafted by specially assigned maids who had tended to her from early in the morning, and her hair, with every stray strand precisely arranged.
All of this was the work of Lady Miriam of House Istel, the Grand Duke’s daughter and Seo-ah’s largest supporter from the expedition.
‘If you don’t manage to seduce him tonight, then you’re officially a failed friend. If nothing else, just pretend to stumble in those heels and fall while grabbing onto him.’
