Obsession... What's That? I Just Wish Someone Would Help Me Escape - Chapter 108
He’s the same guy who gave me new front teeth—now he wants them back?
Not to mention, my body would be dumped back in a bloody heap at the bottom of a cliff.
With a faint, tight-lipped smile, Marvas added,
“Take care of your body. Don’t go handing it over to just anyone.”
“Excuse me? I haven’t handed it over to anyone. There’s not a single soul worthy of—”
He swept aside my bangs and gently pressed his thumb against my forehead, rubbing it with slow pressure.
“Since you’re my follower, don’t go around leaving traces of other gods. Don’t forget—your body belongs to me.”
So this was him taking credit for fixing my broken corpse?
I rubbed the spot on my forehead where El had kissed me and sighed.
Come to think of it… none of the other prisoners seemed to be reacting to Marvas.
Well, I guess that made sense. He’s a demon, after all—probably had his transparency dialed up so no one else could see him.
Leaving only me, the lone weirdo, talking to myself.
“Eh?”
But then a passing guard’s jaw dropped as he looked between me and Marvas.
Wait—he can be seen? Why is this demon so reckless?
“Move along.”
Marvas flicked his fingers with an air of command. The guard scratched the back of his head and walked away like nothing had happened.
As if the memory had been plucked clean from his brain.
Marvas lifted his sharp chin and looked down at me.
“I’ve said it before— Just as humans don’t interfere with the natural order unless provoked,
gods, too, do not meddle in mortal affairs lightly. Appointing a chosen mortal as an agent, granting powers, responding to prayers, rewarding sacrifice or service—those are within reason.”
“El interferes a lot though. He’s literally possessing a saintess and is pretending to be human.”
“That makes him a heretic. A lawbreaker who upends the world’s balance and order. It is my duty to stop him.”
“Why does he do it?”
I shrugged, genuinely curious. Marvas smirked.
“Because he’s bored. Most things that happen in the world start from something just as trivial. Dress it up however you like, but at the root of it all is simple, one-dimensional desire. Humans gave it fancy names like the Seven Deadly Sins.”
“You’re being philosophical and pedantic when you say, ‘I’m doing this because I’m bored.’”
Fair enough. Even I, with all my godly daydreaming, wasn’t aiming for anything grand.
Whether great or small, he’d probably done everything worth doing already—no wonder he was bored.
Like a variety show PD who’s run out of ideas, he was chasing the next high, the next thrill.
“Marvas-nim? Even if you’re using a human body, if I’m the one to kill El… I can have all of a god’s powers, right? Is there a trick to it?”
I was confident I’d never run out of fun.
I would become the God of Entertainment.
He looked down at me with disdain as I practically groveled like a sycophant.
“I won’t tell you a god’s weakness.”
So even among enemies, they still had their divine code of conduct, huh?
“Then how about faking my death, busting me out, and laundering my identity into that of a full-fledged divine ability user? I’m your one and only follower, you know. It’s not like I’m asking for a cross-dimensional warp or time-space displacement.”
He shook his head firmly.
“No. You’ve been appointed my agent here. There is still work for you to do.”
“Let me guess. ‘Destroy the Order.’ How am I supposed to do that when I’m locked up and can’t even see their stupid walls?”
Let me out! I don’t want to do forced labor anymore!
I put on the most pitiful, exhausted face I could muster, but he didn’t seem moved in the slightest.
He reached into his coat, pulled out a brown cigar, bit into it, and muttered.
“As a reward—here, my follower..”
He placed something directly in my hand.
Maybe… I was finally getting some kind of proper treatment? I opened my palm with high hopes, only to see—
“……”
A strawberry lollipop.
You walk around dressed like a dom from hell, and you’re carrying strawberry lollipops in your back pocket?
I turned the candy over in my hand and asked. “Wait… did you also take over a human body?”
“Don’t get ideas.” He must’ve thought I was coveting his power. How’d he guess?
And just like that, he vanished.

Swallowing my annoyance, I made my way to the guard’s quarters—Damian’s office.
It was time to go hunting for the traitors who ran off overseas.
Viviana and Enoch—those cockroach lovers who sold me out and crawled into the Order’s lap. I’d give them hell.
I’d make them suffer until they were begging for death, then steal every last shred of their power.
