However, seeing him say such things, it was clear that Johann was enjoying the moment.
After getting tired of decorating with flowers, we ate the strawberry tart baked at home until we were full. Then, feeling sluggish, we lay down and counted the fluffy clouds resembling a flock of sheep, but sleep did not come, and only time passed freely.
Leaning against a tree, I turned my gaze to Johann. He was reading a well-worn book, stained with handprints. It was a collection of poetry. As far as I can remember, Johann had it from the beginning. However, I had never seen him read it before. Lately, he often unfolded and read that book of poetry.
I rose and sat facing him. I stared at him intently, but Johann, engrossed in his book, didn’t glance at me.
Look at me, not the book.
Now, I, who had become jealous of anything that stole my man’s attention, leaned on the book, looking at him with pleading eyes.
Only then did Johann look at me. With a gaze that seemed to ask if there was something to say, I couldn’t bring myself to mention the jealousy the book invoked, so I smiled foolishly.
Without saying a word, he extended the finger that had been flipping through the pages toward me. The dry fingertip slowly traced my lower lip, starting from the corner, down to the plumpest part, gently kneading. I willingly gathered my lips and kissed his fingertip.
As soon as he did that, Johann detached his eyes and hands from me, he turned the pages of the book with fingers moistened by my saliva. Then, he focused solely on the book again. It seemed he had touched his fingertips to my lips to wet it when the pages didn’t turn smoothly.
That’s too much.
The more indifferent he was to me, the more annoyed I became. This time, I thrust my head between the book and his knees. Startled, Johann lifted the book, and I took advantage of the opening to bury my face right in front of his nose.
“My love, stop reading and look at me.”
He smirked slightly, as if finding my jealousy over a book absurd, but he seemed pleased inside. After kissing me deeply, he embraced me gently and whispered ‘my love’ repeatedly in my ear.
“Well, then I should do something only you can see.”
I thought he wanted to make love to me, but that wasn’t the case. Johann took out a pencil and a notebook from his bag, intending to draw me.
“Do you know how to draw?”
“I learned when I was young, but it’s been a long time since I’ve drawn. It’s been so long that I don’t know if I can draw well. So, don’t expect too much.”
He sat me down overlooking the village and the river, taking turns looking at me and the notebook, moving the pencil. Curious about how he drew, I tried to sneak a peek, but Johann tilted the notebook to hide it.
“Don’t look yet. Don’t move either.”
I wanted to hug and kiss him, but it seems I fell for that man’s trick. Nevertheless, I was so curious about the picture Johann drew that I obediently sat and waited for it to be completed as he instructed.
Being a model for a drawing is a first for me in my memory. I didn’t know what to do. I rolled my eyes around and asked, “Should I smile?”
A tense expression like now would be drawn comically.
“To leave a beautiful picture ….”
Asking that, I realized it sounded foolish. I asked the obvious.
However, Johann shook his head while busily playing with the pencil.
“No, you’re beautiful even when you don’t smile.”
“Ah….”
Johann glanced at me and then lowered his head again.
“You don’t have to force yourself to smile.”
“I’m not intentionally smiling.”
I couldn’t help but laugh unintentionally.
Crack.
As Johann stopped his hand and looked at me, suddenly the pencil lead broke. He took a pocket knife and sharpened the pencil.
“Oh….”
Blood began to appear on his fingertips that held the pencil. At that moment, I went against his order not to move and approached. Then, I sucked the bloodied finger into my mouth.
If the pure intention was just to stop the bleeding, I should have already let go of his finger from my mouth. However, even though I couldn’t taste the blood anymore, I bit Johann’s fingertip, licked it with my tongue, and sucked it with my lips, just like when I sucked the tip of his member.
“Ha….”
Johann, who was looking at me with surprise, exhaled shortly.
“If the past you saw the present you, you might faint.”
The past me?
Johann pulled me away from the daze and made me sit back in place. I silently became a model again, watching Johann immerse himself in drawing.
Unable to resist my curiosity, I asked, “Can I talk?”
“Of course.”
“What was I like in the past?”
Johann looked up and gazed at me. Seeing the tender smile subtly forming on his face, it was evident that he was looking at the past me.
“A Lady.”
At Johann’s response, I was taken aback.
“Are you lying just to make me feel good now?”
“I swear to God, it’s absolutely not a lie.”
“Really? Me?”
“You were a very dignified and strict person.”
“That can’t be.”
“So, when you kissed me first…”
Johann blushed and cleared his throat before finishing the sentence. His gaze briefly went to my chest, then withdrew. I understood. He was referring to the time when I pounced on him with the revealing nightgown.
“… I was so surprised.”
I had a vague sense of why Johann was flustered and pushed me away, why he said I would regret it later.
However, seeing him say such things, it was clear that Johann was enjoying the moment.
