Prey (Lee Seohan) - Chapter 111
“It was a statement that was no different from a threat.”
Under Jeonghan’s piercing gaze and the tense atmosphere, Woo-rim gulped nervously.
He had sensed that the man wasn’t ordinary, but meeting those sharp eyes confirmed that this was not someone he could stand up to.
At that moment, Suhyeon spoke first.
“Sorry, senior. I think I have to leave first today.”
“Oh, okay. …Well then. See you next time.”
Woo-rim stepped aside with an awkward smile.
Jeonghan led Suhyeon out without hesitation.
Turning her head slightly, Suhyeon looked at Woo-rim with an apologetic gaze as she passed by.
Woo-rim tried to smile as if to reassure her that it was fine, but his face stiffened with a sense of defeat.
As soon as they stepped out of the entrance and stood in front of the elevator, Suhyeon shook off Jeonghan’s hand.
Thwack!
Jeonghan’s gaze dropped to her. Suhyeon glared back at him.
“Don’t misunderstand. The only reason I came along quietly was that I didn’t want to cause a scene inside.”
Suhyeon, speaking coldly, turned away. But before she could take a single step, she was pulled back by Jeonghan’s hand.
“Let me go…!”
“I think the one who’s mistaken here isn’t me, but you.”
Jeonghan, who had turned Suhyeon back to face him, growled threateningly. His eyes gleamed like those of a wild beast.
“!”
At the sight of those eyes, Suhyeon’s gaze faltered for a moment. Locking eyes with her, Jeonghan growled in a low voice.
“I told you clearly, didn’t I? I’m not letting you go.”
Suhyeon inhaled sharply, forcing herself not to back down as she glared back.
“With what right?”
Her sharp question hung in the air as the elevator doors opened. Jeonghan shoved Suhyeon inside without hesitation.
“…Ah!”
Pinned roughly against the wall, Suhyeon found herself trapped as Jeonghan blocked her path with both arms.
“Right?”
The blazing intensity in his eyes made Suhyeon swallow nervously. Lowering his voice, he spoke as he kept her caged between the wall and himself.
“What does something like that matter… when Seol Suhyeon drives me insane?”
Jeonghan let out a laugh filled with anger.
“I-I didn’t… do anything…”
Suhyeon couldn’t finish her sentence. Her heart reacted to the burning flame flickering in his eyes. As her heart pounded loudly, her body grew hotter.
Why does my body always react in front of Do Jeonghan’s eyes, filled with this longing?
Suppressing the frustration rising within her, Suhyeon tried her best to steady her gaze.
His head tilted slightly.
“I warned you, but you ignored it and met with another guy again.”
At the close distance, Jeonghan’s clouded eyes grew even darker.
“And even while being dragged away by me, if you keep looking at that guy…”
Gasp.
With his face suddenly so close, Suhyeon held her breath. His captivating eyes glared at her from right in front of her.
“Don’t you think I’d go crazy?”
Jeonghan’s twisted lips released a cynical voice.
“Ah… I….”
She hadn’t meant to, but her breathing quickened. The eyes of the man staring at her so directly made her body heat up, even in a moment like this.
“You’re already driving a man crazy, Seol Suhyeon. Why push someone who’s already mad even further?”
“U-Um, Woo-rim senior and I… it’s not like that….”
She tried to explain without realizing it, but then the elevator doors opened.
“Oh my, what’s going on?”
A startled voice came from behind.
“!”
There were… people.
Suhyeon, flustered, was completely shielded by Jeonghan’s body as he reached out and pressed a button.
Click.
The door closed, and the elevator began to descend.
Jeonghan looked down at Suhyeon’s reddened face, which was trapped within his frame.
“Don’t meet with other guys.”
His eyes shone with a piercing intensity.
“Unless you want to make me lose it, toss aside the contract, and come chasing after you.”
“…What? What does that even mean…?”
Suhyeon hesitated, confused.
“Could it be… you…?”
As she began to ask, the elevator door opened, signaling their arrival at the parking lot. Waiting outside was Chief Joo.
“Take Seol Suhyeon home.”
At Jeonghan’s command, an uncharacteristic awkwardness crossed Chief Joo’s face.
“Director, those people have been waiting a long time. You need to go immediately….”
“I know. I’ll come back by taxi.”
“It’s fine. I’ll take a taxi—”
As she listened to their conversation, Suhyeon turned to leave, but Jeonghan grabbed her.
