Prey (Lee Seohan) - Chapter 117
“Not a bad idea.”
“I’m glad you think so…”
Secretary Joo began to reply, careful not to show his relief, when his phone started ringing. He glanced at the screen before answering.
“This is Joo Il-jun speaking.”
He froze mid-conversation.
“Is that true?”
“……”
Jeonghan narrowed his eyes as he watched Secretary Joo. For someone who rarely displayed emotion, the uncharacteristic disturbance in Secretary Joo’s demeanor was noticeable.
“I’ll head there right away,”
Secretary Joo said, ending the call with a firm expression before turning to Jeonghan.
“It seems they’ve found it, Director.”
…So it was that after all.
Jeonghan’s gaze sharpened.

The cocktail bar, exclusively frequented by members of elite families, had no signage. You could only realize it was a cocktail bar after stepping inside—a place accessible only to those in the know.
Every table in the establishment was secluded, hidden by maze-like walls, shielding them from the outside.
The entrance was open, but the interior wasn’t visible, and the wide spacing between tables created a sufficiently private atmosphere.
Inside one of the maze-like walls sat Seol Hana.
Seol Hana stirred her cocktail with a straw, frowning with a bored expression.
“Aren’t all the new releases these days just terrible? There’s nothing that really grabs me.”
Yoo Ji-eun, the granddaughter of a pharmaceutical company owner sitting next to her, turned her head.
“Is that why you’ve been holding back on shopping? No wonder. Your shopper said they haven’t seen you in ages.”
At Yoo Ji-eun’s comment, the gazes of Baek So-rim, the granddaughter of a food company owner, and Choi Se-jin, the granddaughter of a company in the aviation and transportation industry, turned to Seol Hana.
Noticing the attention, Seol Hana smiled with her eyes.
“I just haven’t felt like shopping lately. Nothing has caught my eye at all.”
“Ah, I see.”
“So, even a shopping addict like you has these moments? That’s surprising.”
Seol Hana felt nervous that her lie might be exposed but maintained a nonchalant expression as she replied with an air of boredom.
“People don’t live the same way forever, right? Sometimes it’s like this, and other times it’s not.”
“Well, I guess you, Seol Hana, have been into luxury brands for quite some time. It makes sense you’d get tired of it eventually.”
“When it hits you again, though, won’t you sweep through the whole luxury department store?”
At their laughter, Seol Hana casually took a sip of her cocktail and replied, unruffled.
“That might be true. I just don’t feel like it right now.”
In reality, her card was blocked, and she had no money.
Because of that crazy woman, Seol Suhyeon…
Seol Hana’s eyes became sharp, though her expression didn’t show it.
Back when Seol Suhyeon married Do Jeonghan, she had an unlimited credit card. The people here now were all heirs she’d met back then.
Except for Choi Se-jin, none of them were A-listers, but since everyone around her was wealthy, it was always advantageous to be with them.
So, even though she didn’t have money now, she was trying to keep up this social circle by selling off some of her luxury goods. However, she had sold almost all the expensive items she had bought back then, and now there wasn’t much left.
Seol Hana’s eyes glimmered with impatience.
“That woman should just hurry up and cough up that alimony.”
She wasn’t sure what was taking so long, but her father still hadn’t managed to collect the alimony.
“I know he’s gone to find Seol Suhyeon several times, so why hasn’t he gotten the money yet?”
It was frustrating, but there was nothing she could do. The rumors about the company going bankrupt had spread, but being caught with no money was worse than death, so she had to endure somehow.
For now, she’d hold on and once she received that astronomical alimony from Seol Suhyeon, she could live the good life again, just like before.
“By the way, Seol Hana, do you know…?”
At Choi Se-jin’s words, Seol Hana, who had been lost in thought, raised her gaze.
“What?”
Choi Se-jin looked at Seol Hana and said,
“I’m talking about Seol Suhyeon. There’s a rumor that she’s meeting Do Jeonghan again.”
Seol Hana blinked and slightly furrowed her brows.
“…Seol Suhyeon? No way.”
“I heard they were openly acting like a married couple at the hotel. All the staff there saw it.”
“Oh, I heard that too. They say Do Jeonghan dragged Seol Suhyeon in against her will.”
Seol Hana visibly scowled.
“That’s ridiculous. What would Do Jeonghan possibly want with Seol Suhyeon? It’s just a rumor. There are so many false rumors in this industry.”
“So, you don’t know then?”
