Prey - Chapter 11
Are you planning to take revenge by making me taste the humiliation of a divorce lawsuit that has become a topic of discussion due to the Crown Prince’s defeat?
If that’s the case, then it means that no matter where I move, it won’t matter, as he said.
‘Then what if I do something completely different?’
After thinking for a moment, Suhyeon shook her head briefly. That wouldn’t matter either.
Even now, he was using the power ofCheonkyung to orchestrate such matters; he might do even worse things then.
‘Running away is useless, huh? Ha, why would I run away?’
His words irritated her.
A woman who had just barely escaped a terrible marriage would never want to meet her ex-husband again in the workplace.
The thought that she could just quit the company rather than get entangled with him crossed her mind, but Do Jeonghan’s words subtly tugged at her nerves.
The arrogant and smug face of him, looking at her like a mouse trying to escape, only made her angrier the more she thought about it.
‘What are the chances that it’s not?’
He had simply chosen this company as a business partner, and by coincidence, learned about her working there…
That couldn’t be true.
It didn’t fit the premise. There were only a few companies eyeing the businesses led by Cheonkyung.
No matter how she thought about it, it was clear he had planned everything and come here intentionally.
Do Jeonghan hadn’t looked surprised at all when he saw her.
‘Then what should I do from now on?’
Suhyeon suddenly felt overwhelmed.
It had been less than half a year since her divorce, and she felt like she was faced with an unexpected obstacle.

Do Jeonghan entered the Cheonkyung Industrial headquarters building, situated on prime land.
Cheonkyung Industries, focused on various development and construction projects, was a core business ofCheonkyung alongside the automotive industry.
They were actively engaged in not only apartment construction projects but also hotel chains and resort businesses both domestically and internationally.
“Hello, Director.”
Passing by the employees who greeted him respectfully, Jeonghan headed toward the executive-only elevator.
The sight of a perfectly tailored suit man, who seemed to allow no room for disorder, walking with his secretaries made the staff whisper among themselves.
Despite going through somewhat unpleasant events, such as the death of Chairman Do Pil-yong and the so-called divorce trial of the century over the past few years, there had only been slight fluctuations in stock prices, and everything quickly returned to normal. Everyone knew that this was thanks to Do Jeonghan.
After Chairman Do Pil-yong’s health deteriorated due to his chronic illness, the succession process that was underway was accelerated. Only after all procedures were completed did Do Pil-yong finally pass away.
Many viewed this as the will of a man who considered the company as his lifeblood, and some even said it was fortunate not to witness the subsequent unpleasant divorce trial.
As he ascended to the top floor, accompanied by multiple secretaries like bodyguards, a space perfectly designed for the successor unfolded, even taking care of the oxygen levels. One entire floor of the building was dedicated to the new chairman.
This space had been remodeled with particular care just before Chairman Do Pil-yong’s passing, and an astronomical budget had been allocated for it.
The four walls were entirely made of windows, allowing for excellent natural lighting, and the interior was designed to maximize this light, creating a sophisticated atmosphere.
“Welcome, Director.”
The reception staff who had been waiting stood up and greeted Jeonghan politely upon his arrival.
With his characteristic cool demeanor, Jeonghan nodded slightly in acknowledgment and walked straight inside.
He passed through the secretariat, which had dozens of secretaries moving about for him, through the conference room, and finally reached the inner office.
As he passed through the spacious art hall divided like a giant partition, all noise disappeared, revealing a vast area with natural lighting that was refreshing to the eyes.
Beyond the art hall, only his secretary, Joo Il-jun, followed him to the office.
“I’ve set aside the documents that you need to approve by this morning. Please review them and handle them first,”
Said Joo Il-jun as he watched Jeonghan sit at the sturdy rectangular desk.
With movements as smooth as a familiar routine, Jeonghan opened his laptop.
Even in the morning, his handsome face was not a single hair out of place.
