Surviving In An Adult-Rated Romance Game - Chapter 3.1
[Main Quest Complete!]
[Proceeding to the next scenario.]
After forming a relationship with the two characters, the main quest completion window appeared, but I couldn’t figure out what the next scenario was. Only the words “in progress” were displayed, and no additional quest information had appeared since that day.
Seona felt a slight boredom in the game, attempting to log out several times, but the scenario still had not progressed.
“Why is it acting like this?”
By this point, a sense of unease had crept over her.
“If I can’t log out forever like this…”
Nah, that can’t be. Besides, the game capsule battery will run out soon anyway…
At the thought of the game capsule battery, Seona’s heart sank for a moment.
“No, wait a minute.”
Come to think of it, how long has it been since I started playing this game?
Seona immediately checked the playtime. It had already been a whole week in the game. The maximum playtime for the game console was only 5 days. In that case, the battery had to be dead.
However, the fact that she was still trapped in the game without being able to log out…
Seona’s heart started pounding rapidly.
“Nah, it can’t be. It won’t be.”
She tried to deny the harsh reality, attempting to soothe her anxious heart. With trembling hands, she pressed the log-out button several more times.
The button remained unresponsive.
“No, it must be a bug.”
Surely, she thought, in a few more days, it would log out. Seona continued to reassure herself in this way.
However, once she became aware of this reality, she couldn’t focus on the game at all. Strategies for the characters and whatever else no longer registered in her mind.
By now, it was almost time for the Royal banquet event.
Feeling uneasy, Seona began to stay inside her room more and more.
If she didn’t leave the room even when morning came, time in the game wouldn’t pass. Naturally, the game was not progressing.
She didn’t have the motivation to enjoy the game. How much longer would Seona continue her life of confining herself to the room?
The sound of someone knocking on Seona’s door was heard. Startled, she sat up from her bed and asked,
“W-who is it?”
There are no NPCs designed to visit the player’s room. It wasn’t originally intended to be possible.
The player’s room served as a save zone for the game and was conceived as a waiting room-like concept that wasn’t recognized as part of the game space. When morning arrived, the game would start as the player left the room.
Of course, in this place, HP doesn’t regenerate.
But a knocking sound in the player’s room? Seona was quite bewildered.
“May I come in?”
The voice that echoed from behind the large door was a voice Seona was all too familiar with. The tightly closed door opened, revealing none other than Balteo.
‘How did Balteo get into the player’s room…’
Does this even make sense?
She was confused, but she couldn’t ask. Balteo casually walked into Seona’s room, looked around, and then spoke up.
“You’re alive and well.”
“…..What? No, more importantly, how did you get in here?”
“What, how? I just walked up and opened the door.”
“No, that’s not what I mean…”
The room only had the player’s wardrobe, a mirror, and a bed for saving. Seona still couldn’t comprehend how Balteo was standing so boldly in this space.
“I heard you’d never come out of your room, so I came by.”
“What’s that…. “
I never come out of my room? How does Balteo know that? No, more than that….. I thought the game didn’t progress until I left the room?
Seona’s expression turned to bewilderment, her eyes wide and her brow furrowed in disbelief.
“Now….what do you mean?”
“What, that you haven’t come out of your room in days?”
Surprised, Seona immediately hit the calendar button in her settings. And what a surprise. Time had indeed passed, just as Balteo said it would. She’d been in her room the whole time.
‘Lies….. ‘
How could this be?
Seona’s complexion turned pale. Shaking with fear and confusion, she didn’t know what to do. Balteo, too, appeared puzzled by Seona’s reaction.
“…What’s wrong with you?”
Balteo called Seona several times, but she couldn’t hear him. Right now, Balteo wasn’t the most important thing to her.
‘What will happen to me from now on?’
Can she return to the original world? What if she can never go back? What will happen then?
She was dizzy, and whether he knew it or not, Balteo continued to speak to her in a muffled voice.
“You haven’t eaten anything for days… Are you okay? Or did you lose your mind from hunger?”
She made eye contact with Balteo, who was looking at her with an uncharacteristically genuine concern.
Red irises and hair that couldn’t be seen in reality, along with a chiseled nose and cold, distinct eyes.
The more she looked at his flawless appearance, the more she realized that he was nothing more than a game character in virtual reality.
Balteo continued speaking from the side, but Seona couldn’t hear anything.
“When you were running around in that tacky underwear… you finally achieved your goal when you got involved with His Grace, so why are you so upset?”
Although his tone was still sharp, his voice was surprisingly gentle compared to before. The term “gentle” was an amusing description of such content.
“Isn’t the royal banquet coming up soon? I heard His Grace is taking you with him. How long are you going to keep acting like this?”
“Oh, stop!”
Seona, who hadn’t heard the murmuring words, suddenly shouted.
“It’s noisy!”
“Huh? How dare you…”
“Damn, seriously. My head already hurts, and why is he causing a commotion here? Damn game administrators. How the hell do they manage game maintenance…”
As Seona spat out her words, she shook her head with a choked-up voice.
“Damn it, damn it…”
Suddenly, an alert sounded in front of her.
[Main Quest!]
[Receive a dress as a gift to wear to the royal banquet from a target character!]
[Success reward: ‘Royal Banquet’ event available]
[Failure Penalty: Enter the hidden ending failure, ‘Royal Banquet’ event not possible.]
What’s this all of a sudden? Seona furrowed her brow and checked the content. After a while of silence, a main quest appeared.
“Ugh, as if I’m not irritated enough already…”
Muttering to herself, Seona reluctantly pressed the accept button. Since she was stuck here anyway, she might as well achieve the hidden ending without failing.
‘And maybe, who knows?’
After seeing the hidden ending, maybe she would finally be able to log out. With that thought, Seona felt a bit more energized.
“Don’t expect any special treatment from me. So, what kind of dress do you want me to buy?”
‘Seriously, what’s he saying since earlier? ‘
Seona, who was about to mutter a curse under her breath, stopped at Balteo’s words.
‘Wait a moment.’
