The Baddest Villainess Is Back - Chapter 145
On her wrist was the seven-stone bracelet.
‘…The red stone has already been used.’
The red stone was now inside Aximus.
It would serve its purpose within Aximus and then disappear, so it couldn’t be used a second time.
Six stones remained, including the blue stone, which had shrunk a bit from being used to protect her body.
Roxelyn took a slow breath and lifted her head.
“So, how are you feeling now? Better?”
“Yes, Your Majesty, all thanks to your concern.”
Roxelyn answered as she glanced around the reception room.
It seemed the two men had already been drinking heavily.
“Lyn, how are you feeling?”
“I’m alright.”
Roxelyn answered with a slight smile to the concern of Kaluta’s king, Khan Haliona.
“…Hey, Ducal Lady. Isn’t it too much to be so indifferent to my greeting?”
“Sorry. I have a habit of being extra kind when I see a beautiful woman.”
The emperor paused at Roxelyn’s words, and Khan burst into laughter.
“You can say pretty cute things too? It’s really a shame you’re not a man.”
The Khan said this as she kissed the back of Roxelyn’s hand.
Her bright green eyes looked down at Roxelyn’s red eyes, then curved into a smile.
“When the conversation is over, would you like to have a drink with an old friend?”
“Sure.”
The emperor shrugged at Roxelyn’s response.
As she turned her head, Hatan, who was drinking with the emperor, glanced over at her and then looked back at the emperor.
He took a gulp of the whiskey in his hand and gave Roxelyn a slight smile.
“I heard you delayed many schedules because of me, but if you’re ready to proceed, may I make the introduction?”
“Go ahead.”
Was there something new to introduce?
The emperor stroked his chin with a dubious look but nodded obediently.
Roxelyn sat in the high seat between the emperor and Hatan as a mediator.
“First, let me introduce you. Khan, this is His Majesty, Emperor Severus Jean Diyanitas of the Diyanitas Empire.”
At Roxelyn’s words, the emperor straightened his posture and smiled broadly.
“The month-long drinking contest is finally over. Nice to meet you.”
The reason for today’s meeting was to finalize an alliance.
And at Kaluta’s strong request, Roxelyn attended as a mediator, certifier, and diplomat.
According to her grandfather, the emperor and Khan had already met regularly and had reached a certain degree of verbal agreement.
Thus, the emperor had turned a blind eye to Kaluta staying in the empire.
Roxelyn’s presence was only necessary as a certifier and diplomat.
Originally, another official would have attended, but this too was a strong request from Kaluta.
‘…The fact that they are doing this so secretly means they have no intention of hiding it from the emperor at least.’
This also posed a significant risk to them.
“And Your Majesty, this is King Khan Haliona of Kaluta.”
As soon as Roxelyn finished speaking, Hatan set down his glass, stood up, and stepped back behind the sofa where Khan was sitting.
Just as Hatan was there for the Khan, the emperor had his bodyguard and chamberlain.
Therefore, the number of outsiders who would learn this secret was precisely three.
Including Roxelyn, it would be four.
“…The Khan, you say?”
“Wasn’t it quite seamless?”
“…”
At the Khan’s amused words, the emperor’s gaze shifted to Roxelyn.
“Oh, don’t blame her. Lyn was just being loyal to me. I also planned to come clean to you, Emperor.”
“…Ha, I never imagined the Khan would be a woman.”
“Your Majesty, that’s quite the sexist remark. It’s inappropriate during the negotiation of an equal peace treaty and alliance.”
As Roxelyn declared this, the emperor looked at the much smaller noble lady with a bewildered expression.
