The Baddest Villainess Is Back - Chapter 16
After being bewildered and hit three more times, Yuldian finally opened his mouth in anger.
“Are you seriously…!”
“The crazy person speaks well, Your Highness Second Prince. Oh, it’s been a while. I’m glad you look healthy.”
“You… Do you know this is a mockery of the imperial family, no! Do you know it’s a capital crime against the crown?!”
Roselin shrugged her shoulders.
“Well, you see, I was just trying to save my fiancé, who was unfairly being subjected to violence.”
“I am a member of the imperial family!!”
“Yes. Your Highness Third Prince is also a member of the imperial family, isn’t he?”
“Hah! What a joke. Can a lowly thing like that, who doesn’t even know his mother, be nobility! Ahaha!”
He laughed maliciously.
“Come to think of it, there were rumors that you’re also a lowly thing. Birds of a feather flock together, huh!”
“Yes, that’s right. I consider it extremely fortunate not to have met someone like Your Highness.”
“This…!”
Hearing the commotion, courtiers and maids rushed in.
Whether she said anything or not, Roselin smirked.
After all, the Emperor wouldn’t be able to kill her.
Roxelyn possessed the knowledge, abilities, and information to resolve the Emperor’s current predicament.
In exchange, the Emperor was likely to smooth things over, covering for Roxelyn’s actions appropriately.
It was a move calculated in her own way, and there was hardly any risk of harm coming to her.
“Why are you bothering my fiancé? It’s so upsetting.”
Roxelyn chuckled subtly and gently brushed the slightly swollen cheek of the puffed-up Arma.
Arma’s eyes popped open.
“What are you saying when an older brother is educating his younger brother?! Don’t meddle in other people’s family affairs! Just because you’re an imperial fiancée…”
Smack—!
Yuldian’s head turned again.
“Oh. my. gosh. My hand sort of slipped…”
Gasp!
Gasps echoed from all around, as if people were reading the tabloids.
“I have a bad habit of my hand going out on its own when I hear nonsense. I apologize.”
Roxelyn murmured with a hint of pity.
“If there’s a stupid dog that doesn’t understand even when I’m trying to fix it, my hand tends to move on its own… Oh, I’m sow-rey.”
“…I’ll kill you.”
Yuldian muttered quietly, then briskly approached, lifting his large hand high.
Roxelyn looked at his large hand with a smirk.
She had no intention of avoiding it.
She had to take a hit or two so that the Emperor could later insert a plausible reason when smoothing things over.
Watching his large hand forming an arc, Roxelyn lowered her eyes in preparation for the impending impact.
SMACK!
A somewhat forceful sound echoed, but there was no pain.
Roxelyn raised her head. Instead of the Second Prince, there was a narrow back.
Roxelyn’s eyes widened slightly.
The owner of that back was someone quite familiar.
“…Your Highness?”
“A, Are you hurt, Lady Roxelyn…?”
Instead of Roxelyn, Arma took the blow.
The owner of the broad back was, of course, Arma.
‘…Indeed, even when we were running away in escape, he never seemed to get exhausted.’
“Young lady?”
At the gentle call, Roxelyn nodded with a slightly surprised expression.
“Yes, I’m fine.”
Roxelyn grimaced as she looked at the blood flowing down one side of Arma’s mouth.
“Why on earth did you intervene?”
She handed him a handkerchief and pressed it against his mouth.
In response, Arma widened his eyes, then smiled, tearing the corner of his mouth.
“How could I let you get hurt, my lady?”
“Absolutely ridiculous…!”
“Jealousy is the root of all evils, Second Prince.”
Roxelyn handed the handkerchief to Arma and spoke calmly.
“It seems like various illnesses are breaking out, including mental disorders, high blood pressure, and rising violence. Please take care.”
“You…!”
At that moment.
The familiar head steward appeared, clearing the crowd and revealing himself.
“Lady Bellion.”
“Yes.”
“His Majesty has called for you.”
Roxelyn nodded slowly in response to the head steward’s words.
“And, Your Highness the Second Prince.”
“What?”
“It’s an announcement from the Emperor. He instructs that you are not to leave your chambers until further notice.”
The head steward’s words surprised the Second Prince.
“Wait a second— Are you telling me that I’m not in my right mind, but this guy is?!”
Yuldian shouted, looking incredulously at Arma while pointing a finger at him.
