The Baddest Villainess Is Back - Chapter 188
Everything in this world and the other world that she had touched became hers.
“As you said, I could be perfectly content living in this world and forget about the other one, finding happiness here.”
Roxelyn tapped the handle of her teacup lightly with her index finger.
“But if I did that, I would sometimes recall the things I chose to ignore.”
“…”
The things she had given up too early.
The things she hadn’t even tried to pursue in order to obtain.
The things that remained as regrets.
“Living with regrets isn’t exactly a pleasant experience.”
That’s why Roxelyn declared she would go back.
Gerun Wilfred tilted his teacup and silently gazed at her, eventually breaking into a smile.
“You always manage to shatter my expectations.”
He uncrossed his legs and shrugged.
“So, let’s hear this plan of yours.”
At his arrogant words, Roxelyn chuckled and nodded.
“You said you know about the Seven Stones.”
“I’ve heard about it. Isn’t it the source of Kaluta’s great power and immunity?”
Roxelyn looked at him with a bit of surprise, impressed by how much he knew, and shrugged.
“That’s right.”
“I’m just curious how you managed to get your hands on such a divine artifact.”
“Well, a friend I met a while ago turned out to be a god. After I helped them out, I blackmailed them into giving it to me.”
“…I see.”
Gerun Wilfred rubbed his chin and nodded at Roxelyn’s casual explanation.
It was Roxelyn who was taken aback by how readily he accepted it.
“You believe it? That absurd story?”
“Is it a lie?”
“No, it’s not, but… It’s not exactly something you’d easily believe, is it?”
“You’re not the type to waste time on inefficiencies, so I don’t think you’d bother lying…”
He set down his cup with a casual smile and crossed his arms.
“Besides, I believe gods exist.”
“…I’m surprised you believe that. I thought you had no faith.”
“Well it’s true that I don’t have any faith, but I do believe in the existence of gods.”
Roxelyn frowned, not quite understanding the logic behind that statement.
“So, what do you plan to do with it?”
“I’m planning to die and come back to life.”
Roxelyn smiled brightly as she answered Gerun’s question.
She took the dark blue and purple stones from her bracelet and placed them on the table. As she explained her plan, Gerun’s expression gradually became more and more perplexed, eventually twisting into a grimace.
He let out a short laugh.
“I appreciate you asking for my help, but… it sounds like you’re trying to dump all the responsibility on me. Am I wrong?”
“Something like that. You’ve killed me once, so killing me again shouldn’t be too hard.”
Roxelyn flicked the dark blue stone with her index finger.
The stone rolled across the table, hitting Gerun’s teacup with a soft clink and coming to a stop.
“And what exactly do I get out of helping you with this mess?”
“Has dementia already started setting in? I already told you.”
Roxelyn shrugged.
“In the next life, I’ll become your daughter.”
“…I’d like to believe you’re joking.”
Gerun lightly massaged his forehead, as if nursing a headache.
“Why? Isn’t that what you wanted? If it’s in another world, I could at least be your daughter.”
“You’re not asking for my help just because you don’t know what body you’ll end up in, are you?”
“…You’re too smart for your own good.”
Roxelyn shook her head in mock pity. Gerun, arms crossed, clicked his tongue.
“I’ll think about it. I do want to help, but I’ve got some things to consider as well.”
He flicked the stone back toward her with his finger.
Roxelyn flicked it right back at him.
“Still, I think you should hold onto that.”
Gerun blinked and looked at Roxelyn.
