The Baddest Villainess Is Back - Chapter 6
Roxelyn’s unexpected behavior left the maids standing behind her momentarily stunned.
“What do you think? Uncle? Father?”
The gazes of the two men turned to Roxelyn.
A man with disheveled hair that’s a vivid red hue, undone buttons on his fancy shirt, and a cheerful demeanor.
And the other man—the exact opposite of the first—with a gloomy impression and black hair, dress shirt buttoned up all the way to his neck.
They looked at her at the same time. Both of them had startled expressions.
The red-haired man, Aegis Bellion, lightly brushed his lips with his thumb and smiled.
“Okay, because it’s my dear niece’s first request,” he said as he stood up.
“Roxelyn! How rude can you be? Serving your uncle food that you’ve already touched… How…”
“Oh, enough.”
Aegis responded to Lady Carmel in a dismissive tone, not even looking at her as he waved his hand insincerely. He approached Roxelyn.
“Ahhhh…”
“…”
Roxelyn, who was about to pick up the well-cut steak with a fork and offer it to him, hesitated as she saw Aegis approaching, whose toned upper body was revealed.
“Come on.”
“Brother-in-law! If you keep allowing her to act in such a childish manner—!”
“What? Hey, since when can you interfere in my family’s affairs? And you haven’t even gotten married yet, and you’re calling me ‘brother-in-law’…”
He let out a grunt, expressing his displeasure.
Turning back to Roxelyn with a displeased expression, he then rounded his eyes as he looked at her.
‘His atmosphere changes rapidly depending on the expression on his face.’
With Aegis staying there with his mouth open to her, Roxelyn couldn’t really ignore him, so she eventually put a sliced piece of steak into his mouth. Aegis had a strange expression the entire time but continued to urge Roxelyn to feed him anyway.
The man, known as the firstborn of the ducal household, was a somewhat rough and rugged figure to be called a duke’s firstborn.
‘He was also like that even back then.’
A man who had given up his quest for freedom to save the dukedom that was in ruins, even lowering his head everywhere to bow in front of other people.
Nevertheless, the dukedom had met its downfall.
These were the thoughts that passed through Roxelyn’s mind as she watched Aegis’s expression change the moment the steak entered his mouth.
Gulp.
Finally, the man got the food down with much difficulty, and he gave a dangerous smile.
“Hoohh, how delicious.”
He quickly picked up Roxelyn’s plate and continued.
“It’s so delicious that my dear father and my dear younger brother should try it too.”
Roxelyn quickly washed away the lingering salty taste in her mouth by pouring wine down her throat.
If something’s too salty, it can be nauseating. It’s even to the point that her mouth started getting prickly.
“Come on, open up, Zen. You should eat too.”
Aegis forcefully pushed a piece of meat into Zerti’s mouth.
Then, Aegis turned to the duke, who warned him.
“Refrain from being so rowdy, Aegis.”
“But it’s your son’s wish.”
“And how many wishes do you even have—”
The Duke, who had opened his eyes sternly, couldn’t continue his sentence. It was because Aegis had already pushed the fork with the meat into his mouth.
“…”
The Duke, with an expression as intense and as ferocious as a demon, stared at Aegis for a moment, then slowly chewed the meat.
However, with the way the food was, he couldn’t bear to chew it even after just three or four times. He spat the meat onto a napkin and drank his wine without saying a word, closing his eyes slowly.
Meanwhile, Aegis had nonchalantly picked up the pitcher and poured water.
“…Which one is the wretch that has a death wish?”
The Duke’s heavy voice, like someone scratching his throat to suppress rising anger, broke the silence as he slowly opened his eyes.
His eyes, one red and one golden, fixed precisely on Roxelyn.
“Yes, I wonder, Grandfather.”
Roxelyn nonchalantly responded as she turned a sideways glance at the three maids standing with pale faces behind Carmel.
The Duke glanced at the maids and then forcefully lowered his cup onto the table with a fierce expression.
“You’re fired.”
