The Baddest Villainess Is Back - Chapter 80
“Roxelyn.”
Arma pulled out his coat and draped it over her shoulders.
“You shouldn’t wear something so thin when you’re not well.”
His voice was calm but seemed more tense than usual.
“Ah, it’s okay.”
“It’s not okay. Roxelyn, you have the most important role.”
“That ends today…”
“Staying safe until we return is what you should do.”
Uncharacteristically insistent for Arma, he smoothly took Roxelyn from the Khan and seated her next to him.
Arma’s large uniform top covered until more than half of her lower body.
‘I remember something like this from before.’
Roxelyn, recalling a long-past memory, smiled faintly.
“Thank you.”
“Of course.”
Arma kissed the back of her hand.
‘This is interesting.’
The Khan’s eyes narrowed as he observed them.
One was indifferent, and the other seemed desperate to suppress his desire.
‘But why is this predator pretending to be a kitten?’
As Arma felt the Khan’s gaze and gave her a downright glacial look, the Khan chuckled internally.
An amusing idea occurred to him.
“Lyn, there’s a fun tradition in Kaluta. Will you cooperate?”
At the Khan’s question, Roxelyn grimaced slightly.
Seeing the Kalutans exuberantly performing on stage, she nodded towards that place.
“As long as it’s not that.”
The Khan waved her hand dismissively.
“No, no, you’re not participating in that. We’re about to start a simple survival game.”
“Survival?”
“The prize is a date with the most beautiful person at the banquet.”
With a flick of the Khan’s finger, the maids swiftly whisked her onto the stage.
Arma’s eyes widened as Roxelyn was suddenly taken away right before him.
The Khan smirked at Arma’s reaction. Gritting his teeth, Hatan, the Khan’s husband and the official face of the Khan, promptly stood by her side.
“Alright! Today’s ‘Katun’ will be Roxelyn from the Empire. Any objections?”
“Wowww!!”
“None!!”
The roar was thunderous.
“As always, the winner gets a day date with the Katun. Since this banquet is for fostering harmony, the imperial delegates can participate too.”
The Khan’s gaze met Arma’s.
“You can use swords or engage in hand-to-hand combat. It’s a free for all! A bit of bloodshed is okay as long as there are no killings or permanent injuries. But, using an Abyss is forbidden.”
Thud, thud.
The Kalutans stomped their feet.
The ground trembled as if an earthquake occurred with so many Kalutans stomping simultaneously.
“Applicants, fill out and submit your applications here. We’ll be accepting them for the next thirty minutes.”
No sooner had the Khan finished speaking than a large crowd rushed to fill out their applications.
Every year, the most attractive person is chosen as the ‘Katun’, and those who want to fight or appeal to the Katun climb onto this stage.
It was a scene only to be seen in the bold and desire-transparent Kaluta.
Arma stayed put in his seat.
Roxelyn seemed somewhat perplexed but showed no significant change in expression.
She didn’t even send a look of plea for help to Arma.
‘…How pitiful.’
Arma thought slowly blinking.
Actually, he thought that this was a desirable attitude to have in a fiancée. He had a lot to hide and did not wish to reveal.
Roxelyn doesn’t reject him when he approaches.
She doesn’t arrogantly ride on his name either.
An appropriately good engagement relationship.
Perfect and without a single deviation.
The fiancée herself would even willingly break off the engagement herself.
How perfect was that for him?
“One minute left for applications!”
He stood up abruptly from his seat.
‘…Not doing anything for my fiancée would be odd.’
While rationalizing to himself, he filled out and submitted his application.
And someone watching Arma was the last to casually drop in an application.
“……”
It was Hatan, the Khan’s husband.
Arma and Hatan’s gazes briefly met in midair.
Then a moment of silence fell, soon replaced by a tremendous cheer.
The highlight of the Kaluta banquet had begun.
