The Contract Wife Tries to Leave - Chapter 177
Again, a barrier stood between them.
Leonid remained in his world, and Johanna in hers.
The difference now was that he wished to break down that barrier and step into her world, but she clearly didn’t want that.
Leonid stared at Johanna in silence for a long moment.
Thinking back, it had always been this way.
Johanna Lucerne hadn’t sought to win his favor or curry his good opinion, unlike countless others who had crossed his path.
And that fact… was now maddeningly irritating.
A smile, sharp as ice, touched Leonid’s lips.
In a voice that could freeze one to the bone, he muttered coldly,
“Of course, that’s how it is.”
Johanna flinched at his suddenly chilling demeanor, stepping back another pace. Leonid moved slowly toward her, his words pressing down on her.
“After all, you still have that damn ‘tender’ first love. Once you give me an heir, you’ll probably run right back to him without a second thought.”
“What… what are you saying? He doesn’t even know I exist… I told you that before.”
“Exactly. Which means you’re all the more eager to go to him and make your presence known. It’s a first love you haven’t let go of for five years. Now you’re debt-free, and you don’t have to worry about your brother’s future—seems like you’re ready to jump into your new life. Isn’t that right?”
“I have no intention of doing that. He’s… anyway…”
The cold marble railing pressed against Johanna’s back as she stumbled through her words. Leonid stretched out his arms, gripping the railing and trapping her within his reach, pressing her with a fierce intensity.
“Do you think that guy would welcome an Omega who’s borne another Alpha’s child? He’d treat you like nothing more than a w***e.”
The unfiltered insult made Johanna’s lips tremble.
“Don’t… speak like that.”
Leonid smiled faintly, his fingers brushing the corner of her eye. The reddened hue, as if she were on the verge of tears, was beautiful.
“You say you haven’t forgotten your role… fine.”
“…”
“Then I suppose I’ll have to extend that role so you can fulfill it for longer.”
“What… what do you mean…”
Johanna’s mouth opened in shock, but Leonid’s smile grew darker, a ruinous expression deepening on his face.
“I said it myself last time—it seems one heir won’t be enough.”
At those words, Johanna’s face turned pale as porcelain, looking as fragile as if she’d shatter with a touch. Her frail expression stirred a faint pity in him, though his voice remained commanding, deceptively gentle.
“Three children, at least, to make the numbers work. We’ll draw up an additional contract as soon as we return to the estate, so sign it without a word.”
“….”
Leonid gazed steadily into her tear-glossed teal eyes, running a finger along her soft cheek. He wanted to kiss her, to claim her lips and slide his tongue inside, to explore without restraint. If they hadn’t been in the open, he wouldn’t have hesitated.
Johanna met his gaze head-on, biting her lip hard. Tears streamed down her cheeks, yet her voice remained firm, as resolute as stone.
“…No.”
Leonid let out a disbelieving laugh, asking again.
“What did you say?”
“I said no. I… I won’t agree to that kind of contract. Why should I…”
He didn’t need to listen any further. In one swift, practiced move, he scooped Johanna into his arms. When she struggled, he leaned in, his lips brushing her ear as he issued a threatening warning.
“Stay still if you don’t want to be humiliated in front of all these people.”
Instantly, Johanna quieted, and Leonid carried her out of the ballroom. She buried her face against his chest to avoid the stares of onlookers. He felt her dampening his shirt with tears, but rather than feeling displeased, it only fueled his impatience. He longed to take her somewhere private, where he could indulge in this beautiful, fragile creature to his heart’s content.
As soon as they reached the carriage, he shut the door, drew the curtains, and pounced on her with the hunger of a beast starved for days. His pheromones, charged and fierce, flooded the space.
Though her body reacted, warming under the Alpha’s influence, Johanna fought back, resisting with all her strength. Soon, the carriage began to move. Pausing from his fervent kisses, Leonid commanded in a voice brimming with intensity,
“Release your pheromones. Don’t make this harder.”
“I won’t. And that additional contract—”
“Not listening, are you?”
With no other option, he poured out his pheromones like a deluge, making the Omega in his arms writhe and moan as if shocked by electricity. He stroked her gently as her body trembled uncontrollably.
The flood of pheromones overwhelmed Johanna, leaving her breathless, her tear-filled eyes blinking slowly in a daze. Unable to hold back any longer, her Omega pheromones flowed freely.
Leonid took her lips again, tasting every corner with an insatiable hunger, slipping inside like a cunning serpent, savoring every inch. Going back to a life untouched by her intoxicating scent and taste was no longer possible. He would do whatever it took to keep her by his side.
“No… please…”
As he began to slip her dress off, Johanna pushed against his shoulders, shaking her head in refusal. Smirking, Leonid grabbed her chin, making her face him as he taunted,
“Oh, so you’d rather keep it on?”
“That’s not… Ah!”
He lifted the long hem of Johanna’s dress up to her waist and laid her back on the seat. As he firmly held her slender legs and spread them wide apart, the anticipated scene came into view. Leonid let out a mocking laugh, as if wanting her to hear it.
“You’re already wet.”
“It’s because of… the pheromones…”
“Because of my pheromones.”
As if it was an important distinction, he stubbornly corrected her, then easily removed her undergarments. Fixating on the damp valley now fully exposed, he suddenly lowered his head.
