Josephine crossed the vast estate and entered the villa, where Mary, the maid who had run an errand, was waiting for her.
“You’re back, my lady.”
“Yes. Did you finish what I asked?”
Mary was a maid who would do anything as long as she was paid. Perhaps it was because she had been part of a crime syndicate before becoming a maid—she had plenty of connections and knew how to do a lot of things.
Though she had tried to keep her past a secret when she got hired, it hadn’t taken long for Josephine to discover it. Using that as leverage, Josephine had been gaining considerable advantage from Mary’s capabilities.
“I found out that there are currently two physicians working at the Weimar residence, and one of them has a personal connection with the Marchioness of Neubitz. Her name is ‘Victoria Oder’.”
As expected, it had been a wise choice to gather information before putting her plan into action. Since Johanna Lucerne was her friend, there was a good chance Victoria wouldn’t cooperate.
Josephine pulled out a bundle of cash from her handbag and tossed it to Mary. Mary swiftly caught it, counting the money before smirking with satisfaction.
“Bribe one of the doctors. As for Victoria Oder, hire some of those drifters you know and have them abduct her here. Be careful not to attract any attention.”
“Understood. Anything else you need?”
“The doctor we’re bribing… Jacques Fischer, was it? Get detailed information on him as well.”
“Got it. I’ll be off then. I’ll complete the tasks you gave me within a week.”
After Mary left, Josephine was alone in the villa. She climbed up to the attic on the top floor and opened a bottle of wine she had prepared in advance. A sharp, rich fragrance wafted through the air.
‘Johanna Lucerne has to be removed.’
The omega who would bear Leonid’s heir didn’t necessarily have to be Johanna Lucerne.

This was already the third day. Johanna’s neck was covered in reddish bite marks, mercilessly left by Leonid every time they were together.
“…It hurts.”
Leonid, who had just climaxed, licked Johanna’s lips as if savoring them, his length hardening once more. She took in a sharp breath at the feeling of fullness as he pushed inside her again.

All she felt was the unsettling sensation of herself deteriorating like this.
She lost consciousness for a while and came to her senses in a bathtub. Wrapped in Leonid’s embrace, she was submerged in warm bathwater.

She didn’t even have the energy to move, merely blinking in a daze. The man’s hands, which had been washing her with gentle strokes, suddenly paused. A drowsy whisper came from behind her.
“You’re awake?”
“…”
“The imprint still hasn’t taken. I’ve bitten you more than ten times.”
His long fingers gently stroked Johanna’s neck, which was marred by countless bite marks. She felt the stinging pain but didn’t react, sitting there as still as if she were dead.

Johanna closed her eyes and quietly muttered.
“I’m… exhausted.”

“What I want… is to give birth to the Marquis’s heir as promised and leave this mansion.”
All she wished for was peace. She wanted a tranquil life, undisturbed by turbulent emotions.
But the man, as if unwilling to let her go, wrapped his strong arms around her, squeezing her tightly, his voice firm.
“That can’t happen.”

“It has to be you now. No one else will do.”
Johanna tried her best not to assign any meaning to his words, brushing away the complex thoughts that rose in her mind.
After all, he probably meant nothing by them himself.
