The Dragon Duke's Wife - Chapter 17
She worried that if she spoke her mind, he might sense how ridiculous her feelings were and be utterly taken aback.
Instead, she wrapped her arms around Khalid’s head, pulling him close. Buried against her ample chest, he muttered,
“Ann, this is dangerous.”
“…I want to kiss you.”
She whispered, barely loud enough to be heard. Khalid stopped in his tracks.
“I told you, it’s dangerous.”
“…Kal.”
Before she could finish, he moved his head into the neckline of her gown and softly bit her b****t through the fabric. Ancia gasped in surprise, her body trembling. But it wasn’t unpleasant. A different kind of warmth spread through her, reaching even the lingering ache between her legs.
He lifted his head and smiled.
“I have so much to give you.”
“Yes…”
“But when you do this, it makes me think only about taking.”
With that, he climbed the stairs quickly, carrying her in his arms.
Ancia assumed he was heading for the grand doors leading to his chambers. Instead, Khalid opened a beautifully carved door adorned with intricate rose vines.
Inside was a spacious living area, a cozy study made of warm-toned wood, and an inviting ambiance. Khalid set her down in the sitting room and held her hand.
“These are the Madam’s quarters. From now on, this is yours.”
“This is too much…”
Guiding her through the space, he showed her the luxurious bedroom filled with glowing mirrors and stunning artworks, a walk-in closet larger than her entire former home, and a small room displaying sparkling jewels.
If her previous quarters in the east wing had felt like the height of opulence, this space was in an entirely different league—so grand it felt unworthy of her presence.
“For now, I’ve just had everything cleaned and organized. If there’s anything you want to change—furniture, decorations—do as you like. I know you love a good view, don’t you? Come, look at this.”
“Kal!”
The view was breathtaking, far surpassing the one from her east wing room. A crystal-clear stream snaked its way through the garden, glittering in the sunlight.
“Do you see the glass roof over there?”
“Yes.”
“That’s not an ordinary greenhouse; it’s a sunroom. It’s yours too. Of course, if you prefer, you can still keep using your old room. We’ve got plenty of space here.”
Ancia was at a loss for words. As she turned back from the stunning view, Khalid seemed to take it as a sign she had seen enough. He scooped her up once more, effortlessly lifting her as if she weighed nothing.
Returning to the bedroom, he said,
“I’ve asked Niro to prepare documents about the household budget and the funds you’ll have for personal use. You’re the Madam of the house now, so the estate, the garden—everything—is yours to manage as you see fit.”
With that, he placed her gently on the bed, brushing his hand across her face as he added,
“But… this bedroom is an exception.”
“The bedroom?”
“I’ll only allow it for naps. I have no intention of letting you out of my bed at night.”
Ancia’s face flushed bright red. Khalid leaned closer, his lips brushing hers, and their breaths mingled sweetly.
“You were the one who said you wanted to kiss me. You brought this on yourself. I was planning to explain things about the family and business… but now…”
“Kal…”
She gasped as she slipped her fingers through his hair. Khalid lowered his gaze, pulling apart the neckline of her gown to reveal the faint marks his lips had left on her skin. His hand cupped her b****t with a possessive warmth.
“On second thought, sharing this bed now and then doesn’t seem like a bad idea.”
“Kal, I’m still…”
She couldn’t find the words to explain she wasn’t fully recovered. Her thoughts dissolved as Khalid captured her lips in a kiss so sweet it made her head spin.
Her body sank naturally into the pale green silk sheets. As she adjusted, her eyes widened in surprise. There was a mirror on the ceiling of the bed.
“I like your courage. But from now on, don’t get involved in fights like today.”
“Did I… make a lot of mistakes today? I don’t know much about the Velados family yet….I might’ve overstepped. If I made things worse with the distant relatives, I’m sorry.”
“That’s not it.”
Khalid’s shirt and outerwear came off as he gazed down at her. Enveloping her in his strong arms, he smiled down at her.
“My woman is someone I want to protect.”
“Kal…”
Ancia’s cheeks flushed even hotter.
Khalid gently kneaded her chest with his hands. Even through her layers of clothing, his touch reached her. She found herself craving more.
Slowly, Khalid began unbuttoning her blouse, planting tender kisses on each n****e before softly biting the sensitive skin of her curves. Ancia unconsciously parted her legs slightly, allowing Khalid to get closer. She was worried he might think she’d become shameless, having surrendered to him so readily after just two nights together.
But Khalid only gave a low chuckle.
“Today, I have the luxury of time, so I want to take my time exploring every inch of you.”
“You said the same thing yesterday…”
“Yesterday, I didn’t have any patience at all.”
As he spoke, his hands caressed Ancia’s b*****s before pressing firmly with his palms. His lips latched onto one n****e, sucking softly, producing a wet sound.
Ancia’s breath quickened as waves of pleasure coursed through her.
