The Dragon Duke's Wife - Chapter 37
The head of his length swelling inside her, stretching her deepest parts even further.
In the next moment, an eruption of molten heat surged into her, filling her completely. Ancia trembled uncontrollably, as though on the verge of losing consciousness. The sensation was like plummeting off a cliff into an endless abyss. She writhed in his arms, but Khalid held her tightly.
Gripping her hips firmly, he pressed their bodies even closer together, ensuring every last drop of himself poured deeply into her.
* * *
It seemed she had briefly lost consciousness.
When Ancia opened her eyes, she was still cradled in Khalid’s arms. Her body was still warm, and his thick, firm length remained deeply embedded between her legs. Khalid gently laid her down and wiped the tears from her damp lashes and placed a tender kiss on her lips.
“Ah, Kal…”
She had truly become his wife.
Though they had made love countless times before, this moment felt profoundly different—like their connection was finally complete. Ancia, feeling both relieved and utterly spent, called his name softly. Khalid kissed her hand and murmured.
“You’re mine now. You can’t escape me. You’ve taken my heart.”
“Heart?”
“Yes, the ring.”
Khalid said in a low voice.
“It holds a piece of my Dragonheart. Your heart is now tied to mine.”
“My goodness…”
Ancia blinked, stunned. Khalid spoke gruffly.
“You’re mine now. My mate. You’re not going anywhere. You’ll bear my child, live as my wife until the day we die together.”
“Kal…”
Something about the moment felt off. She knew something had gone astray, but she wasn’t sure where or how to untangle it.
“I never intended to leave you.”
“You were regretting our marriage, weren’t you?”
“No, no, that’s not true. Why would you think that?”
“Then why did you avoid me? Why take off the ring?”
Khalid’s words spilled out like a sigh. Ancia hesitated. She knew she had to confess the truth now.
“Because I hated myself for falling in love with you when I had sold myself for money…”
“Why would you think that? Haven’t I shown you how I feel? I love you.”
There had been moments when she thought he might love her, but hearing him say it out loud made her heart stop. Khalid, sensing her turmoil, ran his hands soothingly over her body.
“Don’t clench like that, Anne. Ugh…”
“I’m not trying to… Ah, I can’t stop… Ah…”
She let out a soft moan and wrapped herself around him. Her core tightened around him, pulling him in deeper.
They rolled together across the bed, locked in each other’s arms. She wanted to speak more, to pour out her thoughts, but the intoxicating pleasure was taking over her body. Nor did she want to break the deep connection.
Khalid slowed down his waist that was moving on its own. He pulled back slightly while sweating profusely and pressing a kiss to her lips before repositioning them carefully.
With her face buried against his shoulder, Ancia whispered faintly.
“I’m… just someone who responded to your marriage ad, a contracted partner. And you’ve always been the same, from the beginning until now… So I couldn’t help but wonder, is this how you’d treat any woman meant to become your wife? I’m not someone who deserves to be with you. No one would accept me as your match. And it’s not as though we fell in love and decided to marry… Thinking about that, I couldn’t bear it. Even just looking at the ring made it unbearable…”
“That’s not true. Not at all. I’m not that shallow.”
“But you… didn’t you have someone you loved?”
Khalid’s hand, which had been caressing her, froze.
“You broke off your engagement with Lady Eleanor because of that woman. I heard she was a former wartime nurse.”
“…Ellen told you that?”
Ancia nodded, tears spilling down her cheeks. Khalid groaned, grinding his teeth.
“Ellen… I’ll kill her for that. Spreading such nonsense…”
“Is it not true?”
Khalid let out a sigh. Though Ancia felt a glimmer of relief before he answered, doubt still lingered in her heart.
“No.”
“Then why was the ad specifically for a wartime nurse…?”
“What are you even saying? That was to find you. Do you think someone meeting all those conditions was easy to come by?”
“You were looking for… me?”
“It was Ellen who told me about you. You may not remember, but we met long ago. I’ve known you for years. There’s never been anyone else in my mind but you.”
Ancia tilted her head in confusion. Khalid wasn’t just handsome; he had an aura as distinctive as Eleanor’s. If they’d met before, surely she wouldn’t have forgotten.
“I don’t remember ever meeting you.”
“You just didn’t recognize me.”
“But you didn’t recognize me either. That’s why, during the interview, you—”
Khalid suddenly grabbed her waist and thrust deeply into her, catching her off guard. Ancia arched her back and cried out.
“Ahh!”
“What could matter more than the fact that we love each other? You’re already my wife.”
Khalid whispered sweetly.
