The Dragon Duke's Wife - Chapter 40
“It would have been simple if he had said that, but he kept quiet because he was embarrassed. He thought you shouldn’t have saved him and that it’s just something he had to accept? Well, if it’s really that hard, he can always ask for help. Actually, I’m stronger as a dragon.”
Eleanor smiled brightly as she said this.
“The truth is, I wasn’t joking when I said I wanted to steal Khalid’s Heart.”
“If you touch her even once, I’ll kill you.”
Khalid growled. Only then did Ancia realize that the ‘heart’ Eleanor referred to wasn’t the wedding ring Khalid gave her, but herself. Her face turned bright red.
“Take care, Ann. I hope next time I get to meet my cute little nephew.”
Eleanor laughed and waved goodbye.
Until she left, Khalid remained silent. Ancia finally understood everything falling into place. Khalid had been a soldier stationed in Welpen, where he had been hit by the firebomb and fallen in love with a wartime nurse.
But she had never known the face of the person she loved.
“Were you in the ‘chapel’?”
She asked in astonishment. Khalid turned away from her, nervously tapping his foot.
“Was the burned patient in the marriage ad you?”
“…Yes.”
“My goodness. I never thought you’d still be alive. How could this happen!”
Ancia felt both moved and shocked. The patient had survived longer than expected, but he was barely clinging to life. She had fought to keep him alive, though she never believed he would truly recover. He had been transferred, saying he had family looking for him, but she had never believed he would reach them.
Her heart swelled. The miracle, though delayed, filled her heart. She had saved the man she loved with her own hands.
“You should have told me you were alive! If Lady Eleanor hadn’t mentioned it, you were going to keep it hidden from me?”
“What good would it have done? Back then, I was just a piece of meat. You didn’t even know my name or face.”
Khalid abruptly stood up, pacing nervously, but when Ancia told him not to run, he stopped in his tracks.
“Come here.”
“Ann.”
“Quickly.”
He couldn’t resist Ancia’s command. He obediently walked over and sat next to her again. She tightly held his hand to ensure he wouldn’t run away and asked,
“How did you guess I would contact you after seeing the ad?”
When she asked, Khalid lowered his head.
“I remembered what you said to yourself. You were worried about money.”
“What about telling me to read the sonnet?”
“Don’t you remember? You occasionally read to me. You even sang to me sometimes. Since I lost my sight, the only thing I could remember was your voice.”
This time, Ancia’s face turned scarlet.
“I thought you were an unconscious patient! Oh my! To think you knew everything I did while I was in front of someone dying!”
“We were at war. I know you did it to ease my fear. I remember the prayers you read over me at night, and the songs you sang for the young soldiers. I remember it all.”
Khalid pulled Ancia into a tight embrace and lifted her up.
“I loved you from that moment. But back then, I had no voice, no ability to move, so I couldn’t even ask for your name. All I knew was that you were called Ann, your voice, and that you were poor, so I placed the marriage ad.”
“Kal.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you the truth. But it seemed more glamorous to say I was a wealthy Duke than to say a corpse came back to life. I thought you might think I was a strange person.”
Ancia laughed.
“Stop talking like a child.”
“I love you.”
Khalid said. Ancia finally relaxed, her heart and body warming as she gently embraced him and confessed.
“I love you too, Kal.”
She stood on tiptoe, feeling a sweet kiss fall on her lips as she pulled Khalid’s neck closer.
Epilogue
Some things never become familiar, no matter how many times they are repeated.
Ancia thought this as she held Khalid’s length in both hands. It was too thick and long to grasp with just one hand, making her feel the word ‘pillar’ suited it more than ‘manhood.’ She still couldn’t quite believe her body could take it in fully.
“Ann, if you keep looking at me with eyes like that, I’m going to lose it.”
Khalid joked. Embarrassed, Ancia quickly let go of him.
“Don’t.”
“Don’t?”
“Don’t.”
She murmured again, her face turning bright red.
Khalid’s manhood only grew bigger and wider from its originally big size as the excitement built. The s***t itself is already large so it was difficult.
She didn’t want him to lose control too soon because she wanted to please him in her own way.
“Come here, Ann. Let me help you.”
Khalid said, extending his hand toward her. Ancia swallowed nervously.
“But I told you—today, I’ll take care of it.”
“You can’t do it alone.”
“You’re the one who said you wanted this as your birthday present.”
Ancia shot back, half in protest. His mischievous grin deepened.
“Of course. Because I need nothing else—only you.”
Ancia was momentarily speechless.
When Khalid insisted that having her as a gift was all he wanted, Ancia couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. Giving him something they shared every day didn’t feel like much of a present.
But his stubbornness saying she was everything he wanted, had left her with little choice.
