- Chapter 49 - The Explaining Elf And His Shocked Wife (Part 4)
Since they talked about a lot of things at once, Violette looked completely drained after.
Hydrangea called for Verbena and ordered her to accompany Violette to her chambers.
It must have been a lot for her to take in.
She looked shocked as expected.
Violette staggered upon standing up so Verbena supported her body.
She looked paler than he had ever seen her before.
“Violette.”
Hydrangea called her back before she left.
He held his hand over Violette’s head and cast Blessing magic on her.
O Benedetta, heal the cause of her discomfort.
A magic circle with white light appeared and disappeared just as quickly at the sound of a chime.
Blessing magic is not as potent as Recovery magic as it merely makes one feel better by providing comfort to its target.
However, the effect on Violette seemed to be immediate.
Color returned to her cheeks, and her pale complexion improved in no time.
“This is Blessing magic. This will be the first magic that I shall teach you.”
“!”
Violette looked pleasantly surprised as her eyes lit up.
“I shall teach you this the next time I get home early.”
“Th-thank you very much.”
“Get some rest. Don’t think about anything.”
“Yes, thank you. I shall take my leave then.”
Violette smiled faintly and curtseyed while picking up the hems of her skirt.
She then left the room, her skirt gracefully fluttering behind.
Hydrangea watched her until the door slammed shut.
After everyone left, he came to his senses and sighed as he plopped into a chair.
“Pomeranian.”
When he called out his name, the Great Spirit who took on the appearance of a small dog appeared. No matter where he was, he could summon him just like this.
[You called?]
“What do you make of all this?”
[It appears this is nothing but an intricate plan for some foolish human ambition.]
“Indeed.”
[So, what are you going to do about it?]
“It’s boring to just wait for the other side to make a move though.”
[But it’s dangerous to infiltrate that mage’s stronghold.]
“Huh. I never expected to hear that from a Great Spirit who accompanied the party that took down the Demon King.”
[I was with a reliable Hero back then after all.]
Just as the Duke Laudense estate is built like a fortress, the enemy’s stronghold must have been built in a way that would prevent anyone from invading either.
If he approached them without any precautions, then he would surely be beaten back.
“So if we were to face off with them, it mustn’t be in that mage’s stronghold.”
[Agreed.]
If that’s the case, then it would be better if we wait until Snow White becomes an adult.
“Once she grows, she will become the best shield to protect Violette with.”
[I was honestly surprised that you were lucky enough to have gotten your hands on such a high-ranking mystic beast from a blind egg.]
“I have the magic shop to thank for that.”
Our best course of action is to leave the mage alone for now.
“Please stay with Violette until we’re ready.”
[I will, even if you don’t tell me.]
And with that, Pomeranian returned to Violette’s side.
