- The Fluffy Baby Fox Only Bites the Crazy Villain
- Chapter 2 - Picked Up by the Villain
It was amazing. I couldn’t believe the villain could smile so gently.
I stared blankly at Karden’s face, lost in thought. I was still hanging there, biting his wrist.
Oh no, this isn’t the time for that. I should escape while he’s off guard.
But something felt strange in my body. It was getting hot like a fireball.
When I bit his wrist, something flowed into me. What on earth is this?
“Kaang? (I’m, I’m scared. Something’s wrong.)”
I let go of my fangs in fear, but an unfamiliar power was surging through my body. My blood was flowing backward and my heart was beating wildly.
“Cotton ball, what’s wrong?”
Noticing something was off with my body, Karden lifted me up and examined me closely. My reflection in his deep blue eyes was that of a frightened baby fox.
Large black eyes, snow-white fur, and a round face with a small snout. I was unconsciously twitching my tiny nostrils in tension.
I wished he would put me down now and go on his way.
Karden’s lips twisted into a cold smile. It was like the wicked smile of a predator seeing its prey, making all the hair on my body stand on end.
“Surprising. A baby fox can cure my magic. To think I’d find the cure here that I couldn’t find even after searching the entire continent.”
Cancel that gentle smile from earlier. I must have lost my mind for a moment.
Now he was looking at me with greedy eyes, salivating.
“Kaaang. (What are you going to do with me?)”
“Cotton ball. From now on, you’re my personal healer.”
“Kwang! Kwang! (No! No way! I won’t go!)”
I threw a fit, twisting my whole body violently.
“Hmm, you like it.”
“Kwang? Kaangkaang! (Are you stupid? Are you blind? Can’t you see I hate it? Let go! You villain!)”
I struggled desperately to escape, but Karden’s large hand blocked me.
“You’re really as light as a cotton ball. Haven’t you eaten properly? I’ll have to feed you first.”
“Ang? (Food?)”
Following animal instinct, I froze for a moment at the mention of food. The first thing I felt after being transported was extreme hunger.
The baby fox I had been transported into seemed to have not eaten properly.
A growling sound came from my plump pink belly.
Ugh, how embarrassing.
I covered my mouth with my small front paws. Actually, I wanted to cover my eyes, but frustratingly, my legs were too short to reach.
I heard him chuckle. I peeked up at him, but Karden’s face was expressionless.
Huh? Did I see it wrong?
“Don’t be afraid. I won’t harm you.”
I couldn’t tell if the villain’s words were true. But it didn’t seem like Karden would hurt me right now.
Thanks to biting him by accident, his magic outburst seemed to have calmed down too.
Of course, I’m absolutely not going to follow him just because he offers food.
“Your Grace, are you alright!”
Dozens of knights armed with shields came running.
I flinched at their fierce appearances. They must have been fighting monsters too, as their bodies were covered in blood, their faces were full of scars, and they exuded killing intent.
At the forefront, a brown-haired man wearing glasses rushed over. The bespectacled man was overcome with emotion, his eyes welling up with tears.
“Thank God! Your Grace, you’re safe. I was so worried the outburst would continue.”
“Commander, we of the Blue Wolf Knights were prepared to give our lives to stop the outburst.”
The burly knights were also looking on with touched expressions, their eyes red. Some even wiped their eyes.
Could these be the Blue Wolf Knights, the villain’s direct subordinates?
In the original story, they were described as cruel and evil knights without blood or tears.
This is more like big brothers happy to see their runaway brother return home.
“Maildra, you worry too much. The outburst has subsided.”
When Karden spoke calmly, the bespectacled man called Maildra was shocked.
“How is that possible? Did you suppress the outburst by yourself?”
“Ah, this one did it.”
Karden suddenly held me up in the air. The fierce knights’ gazes all turned to me at once.
I dangled in the air, flailing my short legs.
How humiliating! I growled and shouted sharply.
“Kaaang! (What? You’re not letting go?! I may be small, but I’m a lady, how dare you treat me like this!)”
Maildra pushed up his glasses and observed me with a suspicious look.
“Your Grace, excuse me, but what is that cotton ball in your arms? Is it perhaps a newly discovered baby monster?”
“……”
Karden didn’t say anything.
No, why isn’t this guy saying anything?
Why don’t you just say you picked up a cute baby fox in the forest?
I was about to die of frustration, but Maildra continued his deduction with suspicious eyes.
“Shall we take it to the magician Ron for analysis and dissection?”
“Kyaang! (No!)”
Startled, I jumped up as if burned.
Cruel bastards, how could they think of dissecting a cute creature like me?
I tried to escape from Karden’s arms. But he was faster. He quickly grabbed my fluffy tail.
“Calm down, Cotton ball.”
“Kaang! Krrrr! (You bad guy! Let go of my tail while I’m asking nicely!)”
“Ah… It was a baby fox.”
Only then did Maildra look at me closely, flustered.
Karden hugged me to his chest again, firmly blocking me with his thick arm so I couldn’t escape.
I twisted my whole body and bared my sharp fangs at Maildra, threatening him.
“Krrrr! (Just try to touch me, I’ll tear you to pieces!)”
My terrifying threat seemed to work, as Maildra nodded and fell into deep thought.
“Hmm, truly a threatening and terrifying baby fox.”
“This one’s got a temper. Be careful, it bites if you handle it wrong.”
They were discussing with serious expressions.
They must be surprised by my majesty as a predator, even if I’m a baby.
Hah, don’t mess with me.
I glared with wide eyes at the burly knights, not to be outdone.
“Kheup!”
Suddenly, Maildra covered his mouth with one hand. His shoulders were trembling.
Moreover, the other knights were also clutching their chests tightly, as if by agreement.
What’s going on? Why are they like that? Did they all suddenly get arrhythmia?
As I tilted my head this way and that, Maildra bit his lips even harder. He was even clenching his fist desperately.
“It’s a, a threateningly cute baby fox. Kheup, where on earth did you bring such a fox from?”
“I picked it up in the forest.”
Karden said calmly. I finally understood the situation. Maildra was desperately trying to hold back his laughter.
Are you looking down on me because I’m tiny? I was considering giving them a good growl out of annoyance.
That’s when Karden’s hand gently scratched behind my ear.
Huh, what’s this?
If someone had scratched my ear when I was human, I would have twisted their wrist immediately.
But this was strange. As his fingers gently scratched my ear, I felt a pleasant sensation. Moreover, I felt all mushy and good.
“Kyuu. (Ah, that feels nice.)”
Sigh. I’ve abandoned my human dignity again. It’s only been a few hours since I was transported into a baby fox.
I hung my head, overwhelmed with self-loathing.
“Your Grace, the baby fox looks weak. Is it sick?”
Maildra said in a fussy voice full of concern.
“We’ll return to the castle first. I need to examine this one.”
“Is there a problem?”
“When I was in my outburst state, this one bit me, and the outburst disappeared instantly. It seems to have the effect of calming magic.”
“Is, is that true? Then this fox could be the cure to prevent Your Grace’s outbursts!”
Maildra shouted, not knowing what to do with his joy.
I raised my eyes slightly, wondering what all the fuss was about.
When I bit Karden in the forest earlier, his red eyes returned to normal. I thought it was a coincidence, but am I really a cure for magic outbursts?
I had an ominous feeling.
In the original story, the only person who could calm Karden’s magic was the female lead, Olivia.
That’s why Karden became more obsessed with Olivia and tried to possess her by any means necessary.
“We will return to the castle immediately.”
Maildra saluted, and the knights promptly prepared for the return.
Karden mounted his horse lightly, holding me. As he pulled the reins to depart, dozens of knights followed on horseback.
I looked at the receding birch forest from atop the fast-moving horse.
‘What’s going to happen now? I’ve been caught by the villain by accident.’
My head was complicated and dizzy. The future looked bleak. According to the original story, this guy was a bad person who would be executed.
My body suddenly felt heavy and tired. Moreover, his embrace was warm, making me sleepy.
“Kkeung… (No. It’s dangerous if I fall asleep like this.)”
I gritted my teeth and tried to force my eyelids open. Then, a large hand gently stroked my head.
“Take a nap. It’s a long way to the castle.”
I wanted to bite his fingers, but whatever trick he used, when he patted my head, all the strength left my body.
Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep, hugging my fluffy tail.
