The bonfire, dirt floor, knights’ boisterous songs and applause were all there was to the banquet, but it was lively and free.
Everyone threw away rigid etiquette and danced joyfully like children, not caring if their shoes got covered in dirt.

Karden narrowed his eyes, then sighed lightly and sat down beside me.
“Rest your eyes for a bit.”
Karden gently took my head and made me lie down using his thigh as a pillow.

I was taken aback as his firm, muscular thigh pressed against my cheek. But I couldn’t overcome Karden’s stubbornness, which was tougher than whale tendons.
“I just want to make sure you’re alright. Lie down and rest for now.”
At his commanding, resolute tone, I had no choice but to use his thigh as a pillow.
Taking off my shoes and lying on the sofa in my dress.

Karden carefully covered me with his cloak.

Karden narrowed his eyes and gazed at me.
