The Genius Professor Wants An Easy Life - Chapter 28.1
I felt a cold sweat trickling down.
“Why is she like this? Could it be that he is ‘interested’?”
Libel is the epitome of an ‘eccentric genius’ character.
As is typical with such characters, he is indifferent to everything until they become fixated on something he is interested in, displaying an infinite obsession.
And that wasn’t all.
I heard a chilling sound again.
“…I feel the same way.”
Catherine declared fiercely, glaring at me as if she could stab me with her sword.
“I will definitely pass the Ruby Academy too. Please don’t misunderstand. It’s not because of the professor, I just want to study here.”
I was stunned as I saw the burning determination in Catherine’s eyes.
Her characteristic was the ‘indomitable will.’
‘Can’t you refrain from manifesting that hero’s characteristic just because you want to pass?’
I felt a sense of dilemma.
If Libel is a ‘genius,’ then Catherine is a ‘hero.’
Overcoming any adversity that comes their way.
I knew how strong they could become when their determination ignited.
After all, they were protagonists.
I had no idea what miracles they might create.
‘At this rate, my plan might fail.’
In truth, I was somewhat complacent.
No matter how much of a protagonist they were, they were still novices. I thought I could easily make them fail.
But, in this situation, I felt uneasy.
‘I need to come up with a plan. A meticulous one.’
Fortunately, there was a chance.
Leaving them behind, I moved my steps.
Upon arriving at the destination, there was a sign hanging there.
Meeting for the Magic Department Entrance Exam Strategy.
In this meeting,
I had to make perfect preparations.
* * *
At that moment, somewhere far from the Ruby Academy.
It was in a splendid garden.
A breathtakingly beautiful young man was gazing at the flowers.
“Maestro.”
The man turned his gaze.
“It’s been a while. What brings you here?”
“I’ve found traces of the ‘Moon’.”
“Oh. That’s a welcome piece of news.”
The man’s eyes gleamed coldly.
“Where exactly? Where did the Moon appear?”
“At the Ruby Academy. Not only that, the ‘Sun’ mentioned in the prophecy is said to have headed to the Ruby Academy as well.”
“Both the Sun and the Moon at the Ruby Academy? That’s unexpected.”
The man shared a remarkable story.
“The Sun’s name was Catherine, right?”
“As far as the Association has determined, yes. Catherine, the Sun, and Libel, the Moon.”
The Sun and the Moon represented two protagonists!
“It’s ironic. That it happened at the Ruby Academy. Isn’t that where an unknown star appeared on the Celestial Path of the prophecy?”
“The ‘Almighty One’ who interpreted the Celestial Path said there’s no need to worry about that star.”
“But it still feels uneasy.”
The man furrowed his brows, clenching his fist.
“Let’s handle the Sun and the Moon this time.”
“Maestro?”
His subordinate looked surprised.
“Isn’t it dangerous? Our group hasn’t prepared enough yet.”
“I don’t mean to personally intervene. Isn’t there ‘that existence’ conveniently at the Ruby Academy? Exploiting the gaps in the entrance exam, we can plot without the Association having to intervene directly.”
The man lifted the corner of his mouth.
“Let’s just extend a ‘simple greeting’ to the people of the world. A prelude to the upcoming future, heralded by a symphony.”
His subordinate swallowed hard.
Now, the man’s intention went beyond simply removing the Sun and the Moon; he aimed to cause a significant catastrophe at the entrance ceremony.
“That’s…”
“Do not worry. It’s a time of peace now. The Ruby Academy is defenseless without any boundaries. Unless they are thoroughly prepared in advance, there’s no way to stop it.”
It was a valid point.
Among the four academies, it was the most vulnerable.
Even just considering the entrance exams, the other academies had strict security with no room for infiltration.
Only the Ruby Academy, tainted by indolence, was riddled with gaps.
“Understood. Since the practical exam for the Magic Department is the best time to make a move, I will carry out the orders accordingly. For the glory of this association!”
After his subordinate left, the man muttered.
“The Sun and the Moon.”
The gaze of the man, the apostle (‘Maestro’) of ‘Ouroboros,’ lowered.
“Why do I keep worrying about this unknown star?”
And so, an eerie spark, unknown to anyone, began to flicker in the Ruby Academy.

At that moment, in the conference room for the Ruby Academy’s Magic Department entrance exam.
An unexpected scene was unfolding.
Bang!!
“…What did you just say, Professor Van?”
“What he said. Are you serious?”
“What nonsense?!”
I swallowed hard.
The professors were giving me ominous glares, as if they were about to draw their swords at any moment.
‘Haa. but their reaction is only natural.’
The professors were angry because of what I had just said.
“It seems like you didn’t hear me properly. I mentioned that the level of the Ruby Academy’s entrance exam is utterly pathetic.”
“!!”
Yes.
I just dropped a bomb on them.
I stated that improvement was needed for the Ruby Academy’s entrance exam.
“Well, what can I do? With the current lax exam, it’s insufficient to compete with Catherine and Libel.”
The level of the exam had to be significantly raised.
The problem was that the professors were not going to comply easily; instead, they were just getting angrier.
“How dare you! What do you know?!”
“Not knowing things like this is just like you in your school days.”
“Ha. Allowing an idiot like him to oversee the entrance exam. What on earth is the Chancellor thinking?”
Most of the professors in this room had witnessed Professor Van’s mediocre school days.
There was deep-seated disdain, contempt, and hatred directed at me.
‘Although I’ve achieved several things recently, overcoming such deep-seated prejudices might just be beyond my reach.’
In the meeting room, finding someone favorable to me was like trying to find water in a desert.
But…
