The Harvest Mouse Exits the Fairytale Together with Cinderella - Chapter 20
‘Oh, am I really from a distinguished mouse family?’ she might have been excited to think.
The continent is broadly divided into lands of humans and werebeasts.
Terranolia, inhabited solely by humans.
Animanolia, inhabited solely by werebeasts.
And at the border of these two regions lies the domain of Valkyriesen.
In other words, one must pass through Valkyriesen territory to travel between the two continents.
‘I heard that because of the thorough screening and examination, not just anyone can come and go…’
But who would stop the Duke of Valkyriesen himself?
Naturally, it was straight through.
Soon after, their party was able to travel to the Ratzen family through the artifact embedded in the Duke’s bracelet.
The scenery changed in an instant.
‘This is the Ratzen family’s domain…!’
But apart from the dense forest and the vast sky, nothing else was visible.
Startled, Elodie glanced around and then slowly lowered her head, wondering.
There it was, the Ratzen domain.
Elodie was speechless at its splendor, busyness, grandeur, and… not to mention its quaintness.
‘So small!’
The entire domain was visible at a glance.
Elodie looked down at the domain with a dazed face.
The harvest mice, startled by the sudden appearance of humans, stiffened up and then scurried around in panic.
She felt as if she had become some giant.
‘Is, is this the Ratzen family’s domain?’
Of course, from a harvest mouse’s perspective, this size was undoubtedly immense and vast.
‘From a harvest mouse’s perspective,’ that is.
Just for reference, the average length of a harvest mouse is about five to six centimeters.
Considering that, one can somewhat grasp the wealth of the Ratzen family from the field mice’s viewpoint.
But still.
Still, I mean…
‘If I practiced walking here, wouldn’t I end up destroying the whole domain?’
Is this right?
What about my plan to live sweetly with Sera?
This can’t be happening.
If the size of the domain is tailored for harvest mice, I can’t live with Sera!
How can a human live in a harvest mouse’s house? It’s difficult enough in a dog’s house.
It was when Elodie was frozen by this unexpected situation.
“My goodness…”
Sera’s sigh was heard.
Her eyes shimmered like the surface of a lake, and her cheeks flushed a rosy hue.
‘I’m doomed.’
Elodie has known Sera for 15 years, and she could usually guess what she was thinking.
‘She must be thinking about how cute it is inside.’
Having finally become the only daughter of a noble family, I planned to show off all sorts of grandeur before having her rely on me.
Just like the prince in the previous life.
I intended to show her a splendid castle and domain and say, ‘Now all of this is as good as yours, so let’s be happy together forever.’
To promise her everything.
But now…
‘There’s nothing to be happy in!’
Wealth and luxury the size of a harvest mouse.
Unless she wanted to play a luxurious game of house, it was utterly useless.
As Elodie was clutching her head and groaning,
Eisen spoke to the guard – who was guarding a wall that he could easily step over – and said,
“We’ve come to see His Holiness.”
His Holiness?
‘One of my parents… was a high priest?’
What’s a high priest?
The leader of a religion representing an entire continent.
By Terranolia’s standards, a figure with tremendous power, almost equal to imperial authority.
According to historical records, there were even times when the high priest dominated the imperial authority and manipulated the emperor like a puppet.
Elodie’s mouth dropped open at the revelation of a figure far beyond her expectations.
‘Now that I think about it, I did hear something. The former high priest of Animanolia’s daughter went missing when she was young…’
That was about her, after all.
In the world of werebeasts, abilities are inherited through blood, and the family with the most outstanding healing abilities takes the position of high priest, or so Elodie heard.
But it was a harvest mouse family?
