The Impact of the Author's Intervention on a Blank Page - Chapter 2
The Operator was taking the form of that brother’s childhood appearance.
[“I wonder why…. I heard that humans from Earth’s setting generally find children of this age cute. Plus, he’s quite handsome.”]
Even the voice was cute. Perhaps it was automatically being converted in his head, as the Operator suggested. Hearing such formal speech in a child’s voice that was even cuter than his memories made his mind increasingly hazy.
[“If it displeases you, shall I change to a form that humans generally find appealing? Like a kitten?”]
“No! No, there’s no need to change. Really. Don’t. Bother. Just stay as you are. Anyway, appearance doesn’t matter.”
Ja-yun almost jumped up the moment the Operator said that. His hurried voice revealed undisguisable urgency.
[“…It seems to matter quite a lot to you.”]
His brother – no, the Universe Operator wearing his brother’s appearance – muttered dubiously.
That’s how it happened. Getting caught up in that crafty tongue’s manipulation and making the contract. It wasn’t something that could be stopped by willpower.
Crackle… crackle….
Crackle…. crackle….
His vision blurred and hazed like noise on an old TV screen.
Right, it wasn’t something that could be stopped by willpower. Neither the contract with the unfamiliar Operator, nor Ja-yun’s agreement to visit another world with his brother because of that contract.
Crackle…. crackle crackle….
The Operator continued explaining about the world Ja-yun needed to go to.
[“…Anyway, that’s how it happened. The world needing salvation is based on a work called ‘Dawn is Night’s Prayer.'”]
Though he didn’t understand what ‘Dawn is Night’s Prayer’ meant, it was an incredibly cool name that sounded nice. Far more beautiful than those fantasy novels starting with ‘SSS-rank’ or web novels with aggressive male-oriented buzzwords in their titles. Not something you’d be embarrassed to say out loud.
“But what’s the problem? Just hearing about it, it sounds quite normal. Seems like it wouldn’t be strange to make a world from it.”
[“True. It was supposed to be quite a successful world, but… the creator disappeared midway.”]
“Disappeared?”
[“Yes. So the latter part of the story became blank, but we thought it would work out somehow on its own, but what do you know? It became a complete mess!”]
The Operator said this while spreading their arms with an exaggerated gesture. The sight of the small child who looked just like his brother spreading their arms with wide eyes was irritatingly cute.
Of course, the content of the Operator’s careless chatter was equally irritating.
Ja-yun listened carefully to its story while pressing his forehead due to the doubled irritation.
[“Now look. This is the current situation of that world’s protagonists.”]
[Planche Enestia]
Only daughter of the fallen Count Enestia family. To hide from her enemies, she concealed her identity and gender while studying magic at the Magic Kingdom Silveron. She held the key to the truth about the Enestia family, but due to the revelation of her immense mana potential, all the magic tower professors coveted her and kidnapped her to magic graduate school. Oh my, it seems she found slave- no… graduate school life surprisingly suitable!
Expected future: Magic graduate school slave, permanent assistant at the magic tower, (Special Class) Poor lecturer at the Blue Magic Tower]
[Lucas Blade]
Inherited his family’s hidden power, but due to someone’s interference, he couldn’t awaken either his hidden power or true identity and lived drifting through the military. Not wanting to stay in unstable and dangerous places anymore, he graduated from the Academy’s Knight Course and decided to get a stable job.
However, unfortunately, he struggled several times due to nobles systematically opposing him. At this rate, he might end up back in the military as a career soldier….
Expected future: 4th-year applicant for the Capital Guard entrance exam, (Special Class) Second Lieutenant]
Ja-yun, who had been half-lost in his brother’s cuteness, finally came to his senses.
“W-what?”
The female protagonist getting captured by graduate school and the male protagonist becoming a long-term civil service exam taker and career soldier – it was an incredible combination.
[“Meanwhile, while Planche was living as a lab slave, she created a disaster under professor pressure that got leaked. A cursed drug that causes people who touch it to die with rashes all over their bodies. It was a magically modified virus. And that modified virus eventually fell into the hands of an extremist armed group.”]
What nonsense is this now? A magic virus made by a lab slave?
