The Monster's Room - Chapter 36
People had all died.
The only beings left around Marie were monsters.
“Stay with me, don’t leave me alone.”
Yet, Marie needed these monsters.
As long as she wasn’t alone.
As long as she wouldn’t be lonely, Marie…
– What are you saying, Marie?
Spiegel spoke to her gently.
– We already love you.
“…sniff. Hic.”
– Don’t cry, my queen. The damned knight and the troupe leader are trying to break the mirror just because you’re crying. J is trying to erase it too. Oh, our cooperation is breaking down.
What had started as a touching speech was turning into a skit.
Yet, the sorrow that had been unleashed did not easily subside, and Marie’s tears were absorbed by J, who lacked awareness, before bursting out from the knight’s hoofbeats.
But what was important to Marie was not that.
“Love me.”
<Yes.>
“You love me, don’t you?”
– Of course.
“Don’t leave me alone. Then—”
Even if her companions were monsters, Marie knew that her long-desired wish had come true. So she decided to move on to the next step.
“I will love you too.”
Marie saw the monsters freeze for the first time.
For some reason, she found herself laughing.
Outro: The Monsters’ Room
It would have been nice if everything had been resolved well, but unfortunately, that was not the case for Marie. The monsters gathered in one place were like ticking time bombs. It wasn’t long before a fight broke out, as Marie had momentarily let her guard down.
Bang!
It all started when J, trying to steal a glance at Marie, got caught. The iron knight crushed J with its hooves, who had tried to monopolize Marie.
J, who had scattered momentarily, regrouped and attempted a counterattack. However, even though J seemed capable of melting anything, it couldn’t erase the being with ‘death’ as its intent.
Instead of delivering a direct blow, it began erasing the ground the knight stood on, destabilizing the center.
Bang! Crack!
<This place is too noisy for the lady.>
In the chaos, the marionette troupe leader attempted to use his soldiers to claim Marie, but—
Crunch.
The fluffy cotton doll that had been quietly beside Marie burst one of the marionettes. The cotton doll, having stored up the shocks it had received, revealed that it could use them. It ruthlessly destroyed the remaining marionettes, leading to a confrontation of dolls versus dolls.
– Hahaha.
For reference, Spiegel laughed as he mocked the fighting monsters.
– Marie, my queen. It’s me who has a contract with your soul. To see them struggling so much just to possess your body—how foolish and pitiful they are.
Marie could hazard a guess that, among them, Spiegel was probably the nastiest of the monsters.
“Phew.”
In any case, Marie had a duty to settle this chaos. Even if it wasn’t a formal obligation, she needed to sort things out or risk losing her place if the area collapsed. To negotiate properly with the Foundation, she needed to present at least a semblance of order.
“Listen.”
The monsters stopped fighting and looked at her. Although her whisper was soft, their intense focus felt eerie. On the other hand, their attentive behavior made her heart flutter a little.
“So, um. Would you mind going back for now?”
The monsters’ gazes became even more intense. Marie felt a strong sense that if she made one more firm request, they might comply, but she also thought it shouldn’t be forced. After all, if she decided to love them, she had to show consideration.
“Thank you for helping today, and um…”
She was genuinely embarrassed. Marie’s face grew hot, and she struggled to keep her head up. Without knowing how her flushed face appeared to the monsters, she stammered on.
“Please continue to look after me.”
– My queen is a fool.
“…?”
– Look at them.
At Spiegel’s words, Marie looked up at the monsters.
– You told them to go back, so why make them so horny?
Marie was thrown into confusion upon seeing the visibly bulging members.
* * *
The monsters seemed unwilling to leave unless they had s-x with Marie. Even though she had declared her love, her futile murmur was met with Spiegel’s response.
– Isn’t wanting s-x part of loving?
It was a straightforward answer.
At least, it was fortunate that the fluffy cotton doll, being innocent and demure—Spiegel snickered at this part—left without requiring s-x. Although it did ask for hugs and kisses before leaving, compared to the other monsters, its demands were quite adorable.
Spiegel, being a magical mirror, couldn’t have s-x, so only three monsters remained. Surprisingly, the order of departure was settled quickly.
The iron horse knight had already had s-x with Marie, so he wasn’t insistent on being first. J preferred to wait until the end and clean up the bodily fluids of the other monsters. Thus, the order was decided as follows:
Marionette Troupe Leader→ Iron-Horse Knight → J.
It was a peace forged by coincidence and inclination.
Swoosh!
J expanded its body to sweep the area in one go. Sharp shards, weapons, body parts, blood, bullets, CCTV cameras, and exposed electric circuits were all erased, creating the minimal conditions for s-x, but the atmosphere was far from pleasant.
The destruction left scattered debris, dim fluorescent lights, and the occasional sparking electric wires made the place look like a wasteland.
<Ah, my lady.>
