The Nymph Wants to be Plundered - Chapter 9
Without the slightest hesitation, Cassis approached and gently stole her lips. This was the first step of the only method he had spoken of.
“Mmph…!”
Her lips, chapped from the cold wind, were defenseless and found no opportunity to close. What was happening? While Evelyn trembled in confusion, Cassis pressed his lips softly against hers and tilted her chin upward.
It was impossible for Evelyn to avoid this sudden contact with another person. Beneath the luxurious robe at her back, the sound of dry brambles crackling and breaking into pieces could be heard. The robe was so thick that neither her back nor the nape of her neck felt any discomfort.
As her body instinctively leaned backward, Cassis pressed his waist firmly against hers, ensuring she could not escape.
“Mmm…!”
As if her moan, resonating from her abdomen rather than her throat, was a signal, he slipped his tongue inside and caressed the trembling interior of her lips.
In that moment, a mystical vitality, like a seedling taking root, was distinctly perceptible. Like water being poured onto parched wood, the rapidly filling sensation clearly communicated something to Cassis, that it was sufficient, that the primary objective he had desired was more than adequately achieved.
With merely this much contact, the nearly perishing nymph had been revitalized enough to frolic joyfully across the meadows for at least a week. This was the small miracle he had managed to accomplish.
However, Cassis disregarded this new information entirely and continued to trace the inside of her trembling cheek with the tip of his tongue.
Sweet. Soft and delectable. The tantalizing urgency was rather welcome, and considering her fragility, additional precautions would be necessary. Unwilling to cease now, Cassis did not stop.
The desire that swept over him like an intense wind was truly a sensation he had not experienced for a long time.
Cassis had maintained a life of abstinence, refraining from intimate relations in recent times. Of course, “recent” in this context extended to at least several decades.
From the moment he was appointed guardian of the World Tree, women had begun to show interest and approach him frequently, but he had found little excitement in any relationship. After becoming king, he had severed all such connections not due to being busy but rather out of tedium.
This willing kiss, beyond mere sweetness, instantly rekindled the ecstasy he had thought lost. Once ignited, his desire seemed likely to burn for quite some time. Unfortunately, not long after, a sorrowful, simmering sound emerged from beneath Evelyn’s slender neck.
“Mmph… ugh, hmm…”
Was she already struggling?
Sensing Evelyn’s strained moans, he carefully withdrew his tongue. He had no intention of forcibly satisfying his burning desire at the expense of her comfort. Though slightly disappointed, there would be plenty of opportunities ahead—if she accepted this method.
What about Evelyn? Cassis’s gaze thoroughly examined her as she panted beneath him.
She was visibly flustered and tense from the unexpected kiss. Her face was flushed red—her cheeks, forehead, and below her neck all equally heated.
Unlike when she had been riding at full speed, however, she neither hiccupped nor trembled from the cold. The sweet, warm breath escaping her parted lips told him everything. This woman would truly be alright for a while. Not forever, but…
He feigned innocence and posed a cryptic question.
“Feel your condition. How is it?”
“Um, mmm…”
Evelyn was panting, her eyes half-open, and it was questionable whether she fully understood his words. Judging by how she could barely open her eyes and her body went limp after just one light kiss, could it be that this was her first experience with a man?
Cassis regarded her with compassionate eyes as she struggled to regain her composure. Humans are quick in everything—their growth, emotional changes, the pace at which life passes. One need only accept that this woman’s unique rhythm was simply slower than others.
As he waited patiently, her continuously trembling fingers slowly moved toward him, as if grasping at the air. They were directed toward Cassis’s face. When he gently took her hand, alertness gradually returned to her dazed eyes.
“Tell me, Evelyn.”
“I’m not… cold anymore. It’s different from before. But… is this… is this the method of receiving the purifying energy you mentioned earlier?”
Despite her persistently flushed face and quivering lips that seemed uncertain what to do, she posed a brave question.
Looking at that innocent expression, there was no doubt. He had stolen her first kiss, hadn’t he? With his mind at ease, Cassis nodded.
“Half right and half wrong. This much alone is insufficient to save you.”
“What?”
“Because I cannot guarantee that I will be by your side every day. The vital energy I’ve given you is not eternal and will dissipate in a few days. A mere kiss is simply not enough to reassure me.”
