In an instant, tears welled up in her eyes. The sunset-colored eyes, which Payne had always thought were beautiful, shimmered with sadness.

Payne felt a chill run through him and clenched his fists.
He wasn’t disgusted by the fact that a succubus liked him, but there was something uncomfortable about it. He thought she seemed more human than most humans, as she gazed at him so openly, whispering love.

“Yes.”
