The Prince's Taste - Chapter 4.8
If there was one thing Judy Esther could relate to, it was having a shitty character setting. Born into a wealthy, powerful family, she was spoiled and reckless. She was destined for a smooth path as the protagonist from the start. If she were to be a kind supporting character, it wouldn’t make sense for the male lead to fall for someone else. No matter how perfect she was, she must have hit on the setting that she couldn’t be the heroine because she had a terrible personality.
“It’s unfair. A secondary male character can live with a bad personality, but why do the women have to die?”
“What’s that?”
Even in a medieval setting, it doesn’t make sense. The male leads and secondary males treat women lightly, sleep with them freely, and view people’s lives like ants, even beheading them without hesitation. In some tragic stories, there are psychopathic bastards who kill their wives after marrying them, claiming another woman is their true soulmate. It’s comedic how women who stand up to cheating fiancés or husbands are labeled as evil wives or villainesses.
“Why is a woman who punishes a cheating bastard and his mistress labeled as a villainess?”
“Who cheated?”
“There’s at least a fifty percent chance he will in the future.”
Judy Esther let out a wry laugh, her gaze lingering on the silver-haired man. Because, frankly, he seemed like the type.
“Why are you looking at me like that? Do I look like that kind of a guy?”
With a single step, he closed the distance between them, resting a hand on her shoulder. She gently removed his hand, whispering softly, “This is also s****l harassment. If I were in Korea, I “This is the first time in my life I’ve been accused of so many things at once.”
“Well, first of all, thanks for saving me.”
She felt a wave of exhaustion hit her. Today was just too much with the festival and the ball. Moreover, the appearance of new characters made her anxious. She lowered her long eyelashes and began to think of ways to get home.
“If you’re grateful, shouldn’t you repay me?”
“What do you want?”
Just hurry up and say it. I want to go home and rest.
“One day.”
“Huh?”
“Spend today with me.”
Was she mistaken? Judy Esther felt a chill run down her spine. It seemed her only way to survive was to quickly find Ella and throw her at these men. Judy Esther pressed her temples, wondering if there was a way to escape.
Judy Esther’s eyes suddenly widened. Across the street, a blonde beauty was looking at her. It could be Ella. Perhaps the sudden carriage accident was a setup for Ella and the secondary male character to meet. It seemed like she had inadvertently interfered with their fateful encounter. Her head was pounding with pain.
Even if it was contrived, wouldn’t sparks fly if she brought Ella before the secondary male character? The heroine and male leads would fall in love without reason, like dogs chasing after something, without any context. Hoping for that, Judy Esther took steps in the direction of the heroine.
“Are you running away? Turning your back on me?”
“Didn’t I tell you I have a very pretty back?”
This cringe-worthy comment made her feel like dying of embarrassment, but there was no other way out of it.
“I won’t know that until I see it for myself.”
“……Just take my word for it. You can tell just by looking.”
“I can’t tell until you take it off. For now, your face is more to my liking than your back.”
She admired how the secondary male character firmly expressed his preferences even in this situation.
“Go ahead and look all you want. Look until you’re tired of it.”
Judy Esther lifted her chin and thrust her face towards him.
“Hmm, this makes it seem like you’re asking for a kiss.”
“Consider my preferences too, won’t you?”
Judy Esther grumbled at the silver-haired man who was blocking her way. The blonde beauty was nowhere to be seen.
“They all want to fall into my arms, but you’re really unique.”
“Ah, is that so?”
Judy Esther looked up at him with her lips curled in a pout.
“This is the first time I’ve seen someone treat me with such a delinquent attitude.”
“Seems there are many firsts for you.”Judy Esther crossed her arms and slightly lowered her head. She decided to calm down and assess the situation, realizing that being too confrontational could lead to an early exit from the world.
“You’re the first to treat me roughly and still have your head attached to your body.”
“It’s an honor for my family.”
Judy resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Fine. She got it. He liked chopping people up. Would he kindly leave her alone now? She couldn’t say it out loud, but her timid glare spoke volumes.
“I need to go home because my father is waiting for me.”
“Marquis Emers is at the palace, isn’t he?”
