The Princess's Spectacular Abduction - Chapter 19
So even though Nina didn’t understand, she could tell that he wasn’t doing this because he wanted to.
The scene changed again.
This time, everything was pitch dark and gloomy.
Nina felt completely immobilized, unable to move a muscle, as a sinister and chilling voice echoed around her.
“…Ah, yes. This is it. I’ve finally obtained the perfect…”
Nina thought to herself that all of this had happened because of her.
It was because she had foolishly written about Mercy in a letter.
So, all of this was her fault…
As her mother had once said, it might have been better if she had never been born.
It might have been better if she had just died for everyone’s sake.
When the scene changed once more, Nina was fourteen years old, sitting on someone’s bed, staring at a man who showed no signs of ever waking up.
When she left the hospital room, someone approached Nina.
Then Hamelin reappeared and informed Nina that he had kidnapped her younger sister, Estella.
And then the next scene.
Nina was trapped in darkness once again.
A damp, unpleasant odor filled the air, and at the same time, a strangely familiar, unpleasant voice pierced her ears.
“I told you I would find you again.”
Along with the stabbing pain in her throat, Nina suddenly woke up.
“…..!”
It seemed like she had had that dream again.
She had often dreamed about it since the night of her birthday when she first saw the vision.
The future ahead wasn’t exactly promising, so Nina didn’t feel particularly great. However, if one had to find a silver lining, it was that she would not be forgotten.
Nina, who had been staring blankly at the ceiling for a moment, suddenly felt something damp and raised her hand, feeling around.
The lukewarm wetness dripped from the towel someone placed on her forehead.
When she turned her head, even in the dim light of dawn, the vivid and fiery red hair was clearly visible.
It was Ravian.
Ravian was asleep on Nina’s bed, his head buried in his hands.
He was just as she had last seen him yesterday, wearing only his pants and looking quite disheveled.
“Is this still a dream…?”
Not a dream of the past, but just a normal dream that showed what she wished to see. Nina wondered.
Finally, Nina slowly got up from the bed.
Her long, tangled, and golden hair, long enough to reach her knees, brushed against Ravian’s forearm.
Still, Ravian didn’t wake up.
“Why…?”
Why was Ravian here like this?
Suppressing the emerging questions, Nina stared intently at the arm which her hair brushed against.
The tattoos that covered his shoulder to the back of his hand were not surprising or frightening, as she already knew them.
What caught her eye, however, was a scar on his left shoulder that wasn’t completely covered by the tattoos.
It was a large scar, resembling a burn.
It spanned not only his shoulder and forearm but seemed to extend to his back as well. It looked like it must have been quite painful, whatever it is he’d gotten it from.
Nina hesitated for a moment, then reached out her hand, gently touching the area around Ravian’s shoulder.
“Must have been painful….”
The little finger gently stroked the uneven scar and soon dropped down.
She didn’t want to wake him up.
She didn’t know why he was sleeping here, but she wished he could stay like this a little longer.
At that moment, Nina gently leaned back.
“How do you feel now?”
Nina jerked her head toward the door, which had opened without a sound.
A handsome man with silver hair entered the room, wearing a warm smile.
“I’m glad you’re recovering quickly.”
“…..”
“That guy stayed here all night. It’s hard to believe, isn’t it? Actually, I can’t believe it myself.”
Nina, feeling somewhat bewildered, alternated her gaze between Mercy and Raviann, wondering if he really wanted her to believe him.
Then, she suddenly asked, “Why are you here, mister?”
“Huh? He signed a slave contract without realizing this was an evil company…….”
“Are you hiding here because it would be difficult if someone found out?”
Mercy stared at Nina as if he had been punctured by a needle for a long time without saying a word.
Then he smiled again.
“Something like that, little princess. Looks like we both have a lot of secrets.”
“Secrets…”
