The Princess's Spectacular Abduction - Chapter 7
Nina only glared at the milk that was given to her.
Initially, she had a different motive, but it wasn’t something she wanted to say.
She expected Ravian to mock her like this, but experiencing it was a bit uncomfortable.
‘You don’t know anything.’
Did this man have any idea?
That she could have easily avoided this situation, but she let herself get kidnapped. That she wanted to protect him more than anyone else…
Of course, without knowing any of this, Ravian arrogantly interpreted Nina’s reaction and mockingly continued.
“Well, I guess it’s none of my business. But I’m curious about the information you’re offering. For example, could you tell me one thing?”
“…Lately, kids like me keep disappearing.”
“Oh my, really? I thought that was common knowledge.”
The plan to kidnap Atreides’ First Princess included information about the ‘Hamelon Incident,’ a series of child disappearances that had occurred since around last fall, around the ecliptic.
Since the Eastern region was in chaos, it wouldn’t be easy to identify the mastermind behind Nina’s kidnapping.
While Ravian mockingly mumbled about it, Nina looked straight at him again.
It was at that moment when Ravian, unknowingly, fell silent, feeling a chilly presence in Nina’s unchildlike, blue eyes.
“So, you have to be careful. If you don’t want everything used, that is.”
“So you’re saying we have to be subtle if we don’t want to blame it all on the recent Hamelin incident?”
“Yes.”
“Your concern is quite admirable, but what if I handle it skillfully?”
Instead of answering, Nina dropped her gaze downward and sighed heavily at the ground.
Wondering what he was looking at, Ravian felt Mercy was getting the situation under control.
“The boss seems a bit uneasy.”
“…I’ve really underestimated him.”
“Shouldn’t we be grateful that she doesn’t suspect the boss as a serial kidnapper?”
“…..”
Feeling a renewed craving for alcohol, Ravian gulped down the bitter hangover cure instead.
He swallowed hard, barely managing to choke back the profanity that burst from his throat as he immediately wrapped his head around it.
“Oh, what the fu*k did I just drink…?”
“Are you okay?”
Ravian slowly raised his head, and met the worried gaze of the child looking in this direction.
“Is this giving medicine or receiving it?”
Whose fault is this?
I felt my breath catch in my throat.
Exactly, near his heart, it suddenly began to ache, and his chest became entirely tense.
‘Damn, what’s wrong?’
He thought to himself.
His chest hurts so much that breathing is agonizing.
As if sharp glass shards were twisting and stabbing his heart…
“Mister?”
Nina, with a worried expression, reached out with a small arm.
For a moment, her worried expression blurred, and another scene overlapped.
The same child, Nina, smiling.
With a wistful, unchildlike smile, Nina held out one bloody hand to…….
“…..Stop it.”
Ravian unconsciously grabbed the small, warm hand touching his face.
Nina’s large eyes widened even more.
There was a moment of silence.
Ravian heard Keith’s sardonic voice, making him regain his composure.
“You know, I don’t think it’s appropriate to threaten a baby, even if the boss is a universally recognized piece of sh*t.”
Keith was uncharacteristically serious.
There was a glint in his dark eyes that made him look like he was about to pounce on the heavenly boss…… No, he might have pounced if Smokey hadn’t been holding him back.
“Yeah, even in my opinion, that seems a bit much.”
While even Mercy, as if to tease Keith, poked him, Ravian seriously wondered who among his subordinates was the dumbest.
If there were internal conflicts among the kidnappers, wouldn’t the boss be the biggest as*hole?
“Threat? What threat? This, you see, is a handshake celebrating the signing of a contract.”
“Let’s write up a contract!”
