The Revenge Kidnapping Drama's Transmigrated Female Lead - Chapter 11
Psyche paused, biting down hard on her lower lip before lifting her gaze to meet Rezus’s eyes head-on.
“But it’s also true that if you break my arms, Ruon will be hurt even worse next time. Even knowing that… are you still going to break them?”
“If we don’t,” His voice cold and deliberate, each word dropping like a heavy stone, “Does anything change?”
Then, as if something had just occurred to him, he let out a short, mocking exclamation.
“Ah, I suppose something does change. If we let this slide, your shameless brother will think we’re easy targets and run wild with excitement. I’d bet he’d escalate things even further, not hold back. Tell me, am I wrong?”
“……”
Psyche couldn’t answer. His words struck too close to the truth. Her head dropped helplessly, her shoulders slumping under the weight of his logic.
As much as it stung, there wasn’t a single lie in what he said. Whether he broke her arms today or didn’t, Ruon’s limbs wouldn’t escape unscathed. From his perspective, it made sense to ensure that Mathes didn’t underestimate them—if that meant breaking her arms, so be it.
‘Why do I have to endure this?’
Suddenly, a surge of indignation welled up inside her. Psyche closed her eyes and took a slow, deep breath.
Stay calm. Feeling sorry for yourself won’t help in a situation like this.
She let her shoulders slump, wishing for this ordeal to end quickly. Rezus watched her silently as she lowered her head, then gave a subtle nod to Helios. In an instant, Helios stepped forward, closing the distance between them, and tightly restrained her from behind. Just as he moved to place a handkerchief in her mouth, she turned her head stubbornly and pressed her lips shut.
“Don’t bother. I won’t bite my tongue.”
She said firmly, though her face was as pale as a sheet from fear.
Rezus stared at her intently, then leaned in close, whispering softly.
“You’ll regret this.”
Psyche forced herself to appear unaffected, replying in the same stubborn tone.
“No, you’ll be the one to regret this.”
Rezus opened his mouth, about to dismiss her words as nonsense, but for some reason, the retort didn’t come. Instead, he let out a self-deprecating laugh, one Psyche didn’t notice since she refused to meet his gaze.
“…Just stay still. Before you get hurt any worse.”
Her slender arm felt small and fragile in his large hand, which was rough, calloused, and solid like a weapon. Psyche instinctively drew a sharp breath.
‘…Too big.’
Rezus was overwhelming in every sense—his hands, his height, his sheer size. His shoulders were so broad they could easily overshadow her, and his body looked as solid as a rock. What might have been an attractive presence under different circumstances now felt suffocatingly threatening. Her breathing grew uneven, her heart pounding so loudly it drowned out everything else. Psyche gasped for air, her fear rising to an unbearable peak as she squeezed her eyes shut.
At that moment, a rough, heat-laden voice broke through her panic.
“…There’s another way.”
Psyche’s eyes shot open. Rezus gently grasped her cheek, tilting her face toward him. His deep, dark eyes roved over her slowly, a look she couldn’t decipher. She froze, caught like a deer in headlights, unable to move under his gaze.
The thick column of his throat moved as he swallowed, his voice dropping to a low, intimate murmur.
“Spread your legs for me. That would be better.”
…For you, and for me.
“……”
For a moment, Psyche forgot to breathe. She had been so sure her arms would be broken, and his unexpected words left her mind blank. No response came to her as her distressed gaze wavered toward Rezus.
“…Are you not going to answer?”
He asked sharply, a hint of irritation in his tone as he waited too long for a reply.
Psyche looked up at him with a helpless, forlorn expression. Her body instinctively moved to nod in agreement, but at the last second, Serdin’s warning echoed in her mind.
‘If you think you can seduce us and bend us to your will, drop it.’
At that moment, Psyche instinctively knew. She shouldn’t accept his proposal here. And though she wasn’t entirely sure why, she felt this was the time to confront him boldly.
