The Revenge Kidnapping Drama's Transmigrated Female Lead - Chapter 68
Rezus sharply cut off Zephyros, who was making a sound as if he was being choked. Then he continued speaking in a light tone, as if telling an interesting story.
“When Psyche was struggling after being violated by me, Serdin helped her once. But it seems that really shook Psyche’s heart. She came to rely on Serdin quite a bit.”
Probably would have given her whole heart with just a little kindness.
The latter part was closer to a mumble, as if talking to himself, but no one present failed to hear those words.
“So I’m going to treat her well from now on.”
Rezus pulled his lips into a smile. It was a sweet smile unsuited to the situation, one that should be shown only to a precious lover.
“Women in love tend to be blind.”
A chillingly gentle voice continued.
“You never know. If I ask her to reveal Mathes’s secrets, she might tell me.”
“…Do you think Psyche would tell you?”
“What about you?”
Rezus’s head tilted to one side. He asked as if genuinely curious.
“Do you still think Psyche is on your side?”
His face showed no sign of trying to provoke or mock the other. That gaze full of pure curiosity, wondering if he didn’t know, seemed to touch a nerve as Zephyros’s lips hardened rigidly. Rezus clicked his tongue with a seemingly sympathetic look.
“You should have known that a hostage can open their heart even if the captor shows just a little kindness.”
“……”
“When people are struggling, they tend to open their hearts even with just a little kindness. Besides, your sister being fragile and innocent made it even easier to win her heart.”
Zephyros clenched his fist so tight his veins bulged. Glancing down at his trembling fist, Rezus grinned and advised.
“Zephyros Rosebel. You should try being nice to Ruon too. A hostage who feels betrayed by family pulling the same hostage situation might end up siding with the kind captor and revealing all their secrets.”
Rezus turned around with those final words. Though he seemed about to leave immediately, he turned his head back toward Zephyros as something remained unsaid.
“Ah, I’m curious about something.”
His red eyes slowly traced Zephyros from head to toe. His gaze stopped at the documents Zephyros was holding. A sneer formed at one corner of Rezus’s mouth.
“Did you want the Blue Diamond mine that badly? Enough to stake Fredier’s name?”
“Shut up…”
“How remarkable. I’m embarrassed just watching.”
“I said shut up.”
“Even naively believing that was real. Truly a spectacular sight.”
At those words, Zephyros suddenly turned his head toward the documents as he realized something. Just like Ruon’s body had vanished, the envelope instantly turned to powder and scattered into the air. His shoulders trembled violently. Zephyros’s rage-filled shout spread in all directions.
“Rezus Anocton!”
However, since Arje’s heads had already disappeared, that shout never reached its intended target.

Returning to the mansion, Rezus headed straight to his office. He took out two small recording crystal balls from the drawer and gripped one of them. It played sounds of a woman’s moans and a man’s rough breathing. These were recorded sounds of Serdin and Psyche’s encounter. Inside the crystal ball, Psyche was making sounds that anyone would interpret as sounds of pleasure.
Rezus stopped that one and firmly gripped the other crystal ball. The sounds played again, almost identical to before except the man’s voice had changed from Serdin to Helios. Again, Psyche was clearly making sounds of pleasure.
Rezus sat in his chair and quietly listened to these sounds.
Zephyros Rosebel had proposed the hostage exchange the day after receiving the letter about Psyche being violated by Serdin. In other words, he still didn’t know about Psyche being violated by Helios too. Considering future plans, it would be better to keep him unaware.
He looked down at the crystal ball emitting broken moans and panting sounds with darkened eyes. After some time, the crystal ball suddenly made a crackling sound and shattered into pieces.
“……”
Looking at the remains of the crystal ball that had turned completely to powder, Rezus let out a hollow laugh. He found it absurd that he had unintentionally destroyed the crystal ball. He stared at it with a frowning face before slowly rising from his seat.
He was planning to go to Psyche.

Why?
