The Reward for Saving The World is a Husband - Chapter 24
‘So, what do you think…’
Even though our lips were already pressed together, I was getting impatient. The heat of our breath made my lips feel so hot that I couldn’t help but part them slightly, intending to moisten them with my tongue, only for it to brush against his still lips.
Unless there were food particles on them, there shouldn’t be any taste, but his lips were astonishingly sweet through the tip of my tongue.
‘Tasty.’
I licked his lips repeatedly, mesmerized.
‘Tasty, tasty, tasty…!’
Like someone who had been starving for days, I was ravenous and couldn’t stop.
Then at some point, his tongue intertwined with mine, and soon after, it boldly invaded my mouth.
When he explored inside me, I was overwhelmed with a dizzying sense of fullness, and when I tasted him, I felt like melting from the sweet heat.
While we frantically rubbed our lips together, the cloak that had slipped off rolled on the floor of the carriage, but I wasn’t cold at all, despite only a wet piece of cloth covering me. Instead, my whole body felt as if it was on fire.
Maybe it was because his large, rough hands were wandering restlessly over my nape, shoulders, and back. Every place his hands touched was left with a sticky warmth that heated my body.
“Haah…”
Just as I was getting used to the difficult task of controlling my breath, this intense act came to an end.
It wasn’t because it was enough. We had to stop because the carriage had arrived at the gate.
I instinctively knew. This was an act that could be done only in a more intimate relationship than holding hands, carrying, or hugging.
‘I’m glad to be alive.’
My chest felt like it would burst from the happiness I felt for the first time in my life. Maybe I had set foot in heaven.

No matter how he thought about it, he must have gone mad.
In just two days of meeting this woman, this suspicious woman with so many questionable aspects, why? Why on earth?
“I only proposed to you, Elias.’
Why Elias felt relieved by that single phrase was something he did not want to ponder deeply.
When he heard the news that Beric had suddenly arrived, what concerned him was the potential leak of information that could threaten Rachdel.
Moreover, he worried that Elesha might seduce Beric using this as bait to achieve some hidden agenda.
So, even if his focus was slightly off, he could consider himself fortunate that his main concerns were avoided. If he had drawn the line there, he could have dismissed it.
However…
How could he explain the reason why he instinctively bent down as if asking to be touched when she reached out to his face?
Or why the touch of her hand brushing through his hair and across his forehead didn’t feel uncomfortable but rather tickled his heart?
‘Even with all my might, even with my life, very little…… goes my way.’
Why did he feel an overwhelming urge to embrace and comfort her when she said those sorrowful words with such a calm expression?
Eventually, when he brought her to his office and sat her down, claiming he couldn’t feel at ease without having her in his sight, Elias vaguely realized that he was not in his right mind.
Was it because Elesha was too suspicious to be left in someone else’s care?
Or to ensure Rachdel’s safety from those who might try to whisk her away?
But then again, wasn’t his office, the lord’s office, a place where even his closest aides were generally forbidden to enter?
‘My lord, are you certain? You want to bring an unknown woman into your office?’
None of the excuses Elias could have come up with were plausible when his lieutenant, Callen, asked in astonishment.
When he noticed the traces of unusual learning and impeccable table manners in a woman whose true nature he couldn’t grasp, he thought.
Contrary to his suspicions, Elias began to think that Elesha might not be a suspicious woman. She could merely be a pitiable young lady from a noble family who had suffered after being kidnapped by the dragon.
He asked himself, desperately searching for evidence to prove this.
‘So what? What difference does it make?’
Unable to find an answer, Elias decided he needed to find her relatives as soon as possible. Yes. That should have been all.
That was the extent to which he could dismiss it as sympathy or leniency.
“Hmph…”
How could he justify holding hands, embracing, and even kissing her?
