The Reward for Saving The World is a Husband - Chapter 46
“Damn…”
He looked down at my body, now covered in his cloudy liquid, with a troubled expression. I touched it with my fingers, inspecting it closely.
It had a slightly fishy yet fresh scent. At first, it felt slippery, but it quickly dried to a white residue.
I brought my fingers to my mouth to taste it, and his eyes widened in shock.
“Elesha…! What are you…?!”
Perhaps worried I might do it again, he hurriedly wiped the liquid off me with my robe, which had been lying on the bed.
“Can I not eat it?”
He opened his mouth to answer, then closed it several times before running his hand over his face.
“But you… you drank mine. What I was… leaking…”
“That’s… different.”
I couldn’t understand how it was different, so I glanced at the part of him that was still standing tall.
Sensing my gaze, he quickly stuffed it back into his pants, as if to block it from my view.
“I’ll wash you.”
He seemed so distressed as he said this that I didn’t press any further and just nodded quietly.
Even though I could easily walk to the bathroom by myself, he lifted me carefully, as if I were a fragile porcelain doll. He was just as gentle when placing me into the tub.
“I can wash myself…”
As he scrubbed my skin so lightly that it tickled, I couldn’t help but laugh. His hands paused, and he replied firmly.
“This is how it’s supposed to be done.”
“You’re supposed to wash me every time?”
“Yes.”
I watched him as he continued to rub my thighs, then asked,
“Is it because I’m your mistress?”
He didn’t answer for a long time.
After waiting a bit, I lightly tapped his tightly shut lips with my fingertip. Only then did he meet my gaze.
“I found your parents.”
“…What?”
How could he have found parents for me in this world, where they couldn’t possibly exist? I tilted my head in confusion, and he furrowed his brow.
“I’ll explain it later. Just… know that for now.”
I could tell his curt attitude wasn’t because of something I did wrong.
Despite trying to hide it, he cared about me, and seemed anxious—worried about what I might say next.
This naturally brought to mind what the Saintess had told me—that Elias might marry another princess to support the prince she backed.
“So… does that mean I’ll have to leave you?”
Was he fabricating my parents to separate us?
“What are you talking about? Leave me?”
“You’re not planning to send me to them? Most people… live with their families, don’t they?”
He stared at me, seemingly at a loss for words, before suddenly gripping both my arms tightly.
“You said you wanted to stay by my side, didn’t you?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
I answered without hesitation, my eyes wide. His grip on my arms loosened slightly.
“I can’t break the promise we made.”
“By promise… do you mean that I agreed to become your mistress?”
“…You proposed to me first, remember? That’s why we’ve shared a physical relationship. So, I should come before your family.”
As I listened to him, trying to convince me, one thing became clear.
‘There must be another reason.’
It didn’t seem like he had invented my parents just to get rid of me.
Then what was it? Could there really be a couple in this world who had lost a daughter who looked like me?
He must have misinterpreted my silence, for his expression twisted slightly as he spoke.
“If you really want to visit home, I’ll take you. Whenever you want, I’ll bring you there.”
“…..?”
I had no real desire to visit a place that wasn’t truly my family’s home. Still, I appreciated his consideration, so I smiled and nodded.
“Okay, I understand.”
