The Sickly Transmigrator Hides the Fact that He Became a Puppy - Chapter 7.1
Being careful not to touch Han Joon’s injury, Yi Hyeon let one small paw dangle out from the crook of Han Joon’s arm. Watching the little foot swaying in the air, Han Joon smiled gently.
“Are you trying to avoid my injury, huh? You’re so clever, Louie—it’s almost like you’re a person sometimes.”
“I can’t help but love you,” Han Joon said with a fond expression before giving Yi Hyeon a soft peck on the nose. The sensation was quick and tender, leaving a warm and soft trace. Feeling an unexpected heat, Yi Hyeon stuck out his small, pink tongue, panting slightly.
“I’m really glad you didn’t get hurt.”
Han Joon’s voice, soft and soothing like the gentle rustling of a feather, tickled his heart.
‘But you got hurt because of me.’
Yi Hyeon let out a low whimper, his ears drooping in regret. Seeming to notice, Han Joon gave his back a comforting pat and told him not to worry. Then he set Yi Hyeon down on the floor and went into the bathroom to shower.
Worried that the water might sting his injury, Yi Hyeon lay down in front of the bathroom door, keeping watch until Han Joon emerged.
‘I hope the wound doesn’t get worse…’
Even though he was in Louie’s body, the fact that Han Joon had saved him hadn’t changed. Yi Hyeon recalled the steady gaze Han Joon had fixed on him as he shielded him. Normally hard to read and cold, Han Joon’s eyes had felt so warm and direct in that moment, leaving no trace of chill.
That night, Yi Hyeon climbed onto the bed by himself.
He waited until Han Joon, done with studying, stretched and made his way over. Watching him approach, Yi Hyeon pawed at the blanket, smoothing out the crumples with his small paws to make it comfortable.
Han Joon lay down beside him, gently cradling him. Yi Hyeon’s gaze lingered on his arm, now haphazardly wrapped in a bandage from a pharmacy stop before heading home. Feeling a strange unease, Yi Hyeon licked Han Joon’s forearm repeatedly.
‘Thank you for today, Han Joon.’
Han Joon, exhausted, fell asleep almost immediately, leaving Yi Hyeon nestled against his side. As he closed his own heavy eyelids, Yi Hyeon drifted into sleep, comforted by Han Joon’s warmth and steady breathing.

Over the next few days, Yi Hyeon had learned how to maneuver life as a puppy. Most importantly, he had discovered how to handle bathroom breaks. Whenever Han Joon left the bathroom, Yi Hyeon would slyly wedge one of Louie’s toys into the door to keep it from fully closing. This allowed him to nudge it open with a small body bump, and he was able to discreetly handle his needs over the drain.
After he took care of his perfect crime, he would trot over to the large floor-to-ceiling window, listening to the soft *toto-tok* sound of his paws on the floor. Standing so close that his nose was squished against the glass, Yi Hyeon let out a deep sigh.
‘He should be back soon.’
When Han Joon was at school, it was incredibly boring.
Although he would leave the TV on for Yi Hyeon, what would the pet channel be for him? Trying to pass the time, Yi Hyeon eventually switched to an educational channel, studying until Han Joon returned.
Then, hearing someone enter the house, Yi Hyeon hastily changed the channel back to the pet channel, making it look like he hadn’t been watching anything else. Listening to the voice downstairs, he realized it wasn’t Han Joon but his father, the congressman.
The house staff had gone shopping, and Se Hyun’s mother was at a salon, so with both sons at school, only the congressman and Yi Hyeon, disguised as Louie, remained in the house.
A few moments later, he heard the master bedroom door close.
Curious, Yi Hyeon’s ears perked up at the low voice of the congressman, who was usually loud.
“It’ll be a problem if it isn’t handled perfectly. Make sure it’s thoroughly dismantled so no trace remains. Yes, I’m counting on you, Chief Kim.”
Shortly after, he heard the front door open again as Se Hyun and his mother returned. The congressman abruptly ended the call, stepping out of the room as if he had just woken up. Yi Hyeon found his behavior odd but brushed it off, reasoning that a congressman’s life must be filled with secrets. Then he resumed watching the educational channel.
