- Chapter 4 Part 9 - Words Deserving a Slap-Little Bit R19
She knew better than to be so sharp. He was the Emperor, after all. Any other woman would have been eager to please if she had become his Empress.
But what was the use? He was Angelica’s slav… No, such thoughts were excessive towards the Emperor. Regardless, he belonged to another woman. Why should she strive to please a man who wasn’t hers? Pouring effort into a waste bin, how was it any different?
Rahil’s face turned pale at Anais’s retort, and she found his shocked expression irritating.
“Then I’ll use the sofa, and you can have the bed.”
“You’re too tall, and too big for the sofa.”
“It’s better than becoming the man who makes his wife sleep on the sofa during our honeymoon. If you’re sleeping on the sofa, I’ll just sleep on the floor. That’s not what you want, is it?”
Rahil’s gentle voice furrowed Anais’s brows. Before their marriage, he had a knack for sarcasm and could make cutting remarks towards her.
But now, he seemed to be following her words like a docile lamb. It was a welcome change but also a source of frustration for Anais.
‘I can’t have the Emperor sleep on the sofa.’
Yet, Rahil’s point stood. Although it seemed unlikely the situation would leak, rumors could still spread if it became known that the Emperor had his Empress sleep on the sofa.
Seeing Anais in contemplation, Rahil quickly took a seat on the spot she had prepared on the sofa, as if claiming his territory.
“You must be tired from the carriage ride. Sleep well on the bed. I’ll take care of the lights.”
“Your Majesty should sleep on the bed.”
What does it matter if there are rumors? The Emperor is already rumored to favor another woman.
With those thoughts, Anais picked up the remaining pillow and blanket and moved to another sofa. If Rahil had overlooked anything, it was that the bedroom was spacious, with more than one sofa available.
“The Emperor remains the Emperor. I can’t use the bed while leaving you out.”
“Since when has the Ruol family been so loyal to me… Anais!”
However, Anais had already settled down on the other sofa. Rahil sprung up and stood beside her.
“Are you really going to do this?”
“I haven’t really done anything.”
Rahil glared at Anais, then abruptly turned to extinguish the lights in the room. After turning off the last lamp and closing the windows, he drew the curtains with a swift motion, and his footsteps echoed as he walked across the bedroom.
“Ah?! Your Majesty!”
“Struggle as you might, I will not let you fall, Anais.”
Rahil had walked up to Anais and picked her up, blanket and all. Despite her flailing, Rahil’s arms, strong as steel, did not budge.
“I said I would sleep on the couch…. Uh!”
Anais trembled as Rahil’s lips almost pressed against hers. In the darkness, Rahil narrowed his eyes and whispered.
“It’s a pity. If the empress had moved her head just a little, you would have brought your lips to mine on your own.”
“Why are you doing this?!”
By the time she raised her voice, they had already arrived at the bed. Rahil took off his shoes and climbed onto the bed. He laid Anais beside him and lay down next to her, holding her tightly.
“It’s because of you. Now, I can’t sleep without holding the empress in my arms.”
“What?! Don’t lie! Go away!”
“No.”
“We’ve only slept together for two days!”
When Anais pushed Rahil’s face away, he turned his head, bit, and licked her palm, startling her.
“Your Majesty!”
“It’s true. It’s not a lie, Anais….”
What’s not a lie! Anais, feeling as if a lid had been blown off in the moment after her palm was licked, wiped her saliva-covered hand on his chest, feeling his firm chest and the n*pples through the palm of her hand.
‘Do you really want to do this now?!’
She was dressed in a pinkish white nightgown, and Rahil was wearing only a robe. He had come out without even putting on pajamas, bothered by the conversation between Anais and Mary in the bedroom.
Still, unable to bring herself to pinch his n*pple, Anais slid her hand inside his robe.
‘Let’s see how far you can endure!’
As she slid her hand from the middle of his chest down to his abdomen, a gasp involuntarily escaped him. In the darkness, Rahil’s body tensed.
‘Huh?’
Their bodies were intertwined, making it impossible not to notice. In reality, it was because it was so hard and big that she hadn’t realized what it was.
‘It’s already up?’
The peculiar warmth touching the back of her hand made both Anais’s and Rahil’s faces heat up. Anais, flustered, tried to withdraw her hand from his robe, but he caught her wrist.
“You can touch.”
The whispered voice felt eerily lascivious, causing Anais to shrink back. Though it wasn’t their first night, her body inexplicably heated up.
“You wanted to touch by putting your hand in, didn’t you? Anais… We’re husband and wife. You can do whatever you want with me.”
It seemed like warmth was emanating from Rahil’s body through her palm. Each time he spoke, his abdomen vibrated, and his muscles twitched.
As Anais deliberately scratched him with her nails, Rahil moaned. He was a sword master, so this much wouldn’t leave a scratch on him.
“Your Majesty, you can’t do as you please with me. We may be married, but you are not entirely mine.”
She knew herself. Anais Ruol was a woman who couldn’t pour her everything into a man who didn’t give his all to her.
Rahil felt like crying.
“…Is that important?”
“It’s important to me.”
“Anais….”
Of course, it was important. It had to be. But you’ll run away if I tell you I love you. Because you hate me.
“Let me kiss you…”
“No…”
“If you let me kiss you….”
‘I’ll give you myself.’ The words hovered in his mouth, unspoken because he anticipated the unnecessary rejection.
“I will give you the entire empire.”
“You shouldn’t say such things.”
