The Succubus, The Priest, and His Fall Into Lustful Heat - Chapter 33
“Time, um…”
Ashtel’s eyes rolled.
The man before her, Duvalkan, had romantically droopy eyes, a long nose, and a pleasantly upturned mouth, making him quite a sight. However, he wasn’t her type at all.
She was currently focused on Payne, so there was no chance she could accept him.
“I’m sorry, but I’m really busy right now.”
“Really? You’ve been standing here doing nothing for a while now.”
“What, you have been watching me!”
“Haha, I wasn’t stalking you or anything.”
Duvalkan seemed to know how to present himself in the best light. His dazzling white smile might have caught even the devoted Ashtel’s eye.
No, rather, as a succubus, she was even more susceptible to desires, which made her drawn to such things.
‘I need to get away.’
A warning bell rang in Ashtel’s head.
“I was just thinking to myself. Anyway, I don’t have time to talk to the knight, so I’ll be leaving now.”
“Please, call me Sir Duvalkan.”
“I’d rather not.”
Ashtel passed him with a snooty expression. However, as she hurried away, Duvalkan suddenly grabbed her forearm.
“Ah!”
Taken aback by his sudden grip, Ashtel flinched. Unlike Payne, Duvalkan was naturally strong, and it was hard to break free from his grasp.
Ashtel was flustered but managed to push Duvalkan away as she exclaimed.
“What are you doing? Let go of me!”
“Sorry, I was just a bit hasty.”
Fortunately, Duvalkan released her right away.
However, Ashtel’s heart was still pounding wildly, as if it was about to jump out of her chest. Did this darn human even want to get a rise out of her?
For a moment, her eyes sharpened, but she knew better than to use her powers, as it would only get her in trouble.
‘Ugh…’
Ashtel pouted at Duvalkan.
This wouldn’t do, so she blurted out something she hadn’t planned to say.
“I have someone I like.”
“Oh?”
“He’s much more handsome and impressive than the knight.”
Of course, there was no one better than her Payne in this world.
“So please, stop showing interest in me.”
“…”
Duvalkan was taken aback and stared open-mouthed at Ashtel. He blinked a few times before letting out a chuckle and brushed his short hair back.
“Miss Ashtel, you have some charming surprises…”
“Sir Duvalkan.”
“Huh?!”
At that moment, a familiar voice came from down the corridor.
“I have been looking for you.”
Clad in his impeccably neat priest’s robes, with ash-gray hair perfectly falling to his shoulders, Payne walked with a statue-like stoicism.
He glanced at Duvalkan then shifted his gaze to the documents he was carrying, fluttering them as he continued.
“His Eminence Ser Promen has been asking for you. Also, the supply forms I gave you earlier…”
“Father Payne!”
Ashtel bounced over to Payne excitedly.
“…Miss Maid?”
Payne only noticed her presence when she popped out from behind Duvalkan.
“Miss Maid, why are you…”
It felt like déjà vu. Ashtel smiled warmly, remembering their last time.
Payne’s mouth slightly opened in response to her affectionate grin. However, when Duvalkan moved closer, Payne snapped back to reality.
“Oh, has it changed again?”
“Yes… But why are you two together?”
“Miss Ashtel seemed interesting, so I decided to come find her.”
Duvalkan shrugged with a smile, casting a playful look towards Ashtel.
Payne furrowed his brows.
“Sir, you mean?”
“Yes. And it’s Sir Duvalkan, if you remember.”
“Father Payne, I was looking for you too!”
Ashtel raised her hand eagerly, and Payne sighed wearily.
Suddenly struck by a thought, he glanced between them, handed the documents to Duvalkan, and gestured for Ashtel to follow him.
“Miss, come with me.”
Hurray. Ashtel cheered silently, happy that her feelings had finally reached him.
As she happily followed Payne, a shiver ran down her spine. Turning around, she saw Duvalkan waving with a deep smile.
She doesn’t know when he thought they became friends.
‘That guy feels a bit off.’
Moreover, her forearm still throbbed where that guy had grabbed it. It was clear he hadn’t considered her slender build when he had gripped her so forcefully.
While trembling, Ashtel asked Payne.
“Father Payne, are you friends with that knight?”
“…..Why do you ask?”
