The Succubus, The Priest, and His Fall Into Lustful Heat - Chapter 60
Having just come out of the bath, Duvalkan was tossing his wet hair back with a heavy step as he left his room.
Ashtel, who didn’t care about his bathing habits, raised her eyebrows sharply.
“Why are you still here!”
“What, how did you…”
“I heard from Sir Van that you’re here at the quarters.”
“Oh, I see…”
Duvalkan swallowed his discomfort.
Every time Ashtel made her sharp, demanding noises, the sinister item in the basket came to his mind.
“So, what about my basket?”
“It’s here. I was actually about to head to the training grounds.”
The basket, which had been overflowing when she last saw it, now seemed as small as a child’s bag in Duvalkan’s arms.
Ashtel quickly took the basket, checking its contents out of sight. Fortunately, nothing seemed to be missing. Everything appeared to be in its place.
“Ah, are you suspecting me now?”
“…It’s just that you’re giving it back late.”
“I didn’t steal anything. I didn’t even look at it.”
“Really? Are you sure?”
“Yes, indeed.”
Of course, that was a lie. Currently, Duvalkan’s cheeks were gradually reddening. For a twenty-seven-year-old v****n, the sensation of a di-do was quite significant.
Thanks to this, his bath time wasn’t particularly long.
Duvalkan cleared his throat, rubbed the back of his neck, and then cautiously glanced at Ashtel. Her white skin like snow and eyes as round as a herbivore’s were striking. However, her words were sharper than expected, and her actions were anything but the behavior of a demure rabbit.
Yet, considering her neatly styled curly hair and the slender figure hidden beneath her wide maid’s uniform, she seemed almost like an innocent little creature.
In short, she resembled a prickly kitten. Although if he saw Ashtel’s ample chest, the ‘kitten’ description might not apply, but that was unlikely for Duvalkan.
Instead, he found her cute and, trying to act casually, asked.
“By the way, the basket was quite light. It doesn’t seem to have any books in it, so what’s inside?”
“Why do you ask?”
“Since I’m now an accomplice, I’m curious.”
“I’m not going to tell you.”
“Really? I did help you, you know.”
“Didn’t you say you’d hide it if it was embarrassing?”
Despite his insistence that he wouldn’t look, why was he changing his tune now?
‘Well, he still seems not to have detected any magic.’
Otherwise, he wouldn’t be approaching her with such a relaxed demeanor. Having finished her business, Ashtel ignored Duvalkan’s attempts to engage her and strode off with purpose.
“Maid, Miss Sue.”
“Why? Don’t follow me!”
“Why so cold? Is there no reward?”
“Reward?”
Only then did Ashtel’s steps, quick as a deer’s, come to a halt.
“…What kind of reward are you talking about?”
Duvalkan, though a foolish man relying only on his looks, was still a knight. Further provoking him might earn her a scorching glare.
‘Such is my fate. A succubus’s fate!’
Ashtel, though somewhat clueless compared to typical humans, noticed Duvalkan’s eager reply.
“Let’s have a meal together.”
“Pardon?”
“Tomorrow evening. How about it?”
Ashtel, initially about to refuse outright, hesitated. Dinner would be a better time to meet than during the day when she’d be avoiding Payne. Still, she wanted to end Duvalkan’s advances here.
“Alright. But this will be the first and last time.”
With the intention of signaling that she didn’t want any further advances, Ashtel agreed to Duvalkan’s offer.
‘Oh, why is it that even as a human, I’m so popular?’
Grumbling about her charm being as inexhaustible as Katzel’s divine power, Ashtel walked a little further before encountering Payne again.
This time, with another priest present and Duvalkan hanging around like an unwanted appendage, Ashtel approached Payne with a simple greeting, avoiding conversation.
However, Payne’s gaze lingered on Duvalkan before shifting to Ashtel with a darkening expression.
‘Hmm?’
Ashtel tilted her head, noticing that Payne seemed unusually gloomy, unlike his usual demeanor.
‘Did he have a fight with that Duval guy?’
Perhaps Payne was surprised earlier when she mentioned having business with Duvalkan.
Hesitating in her thoughts, Ashtel was about to speak to Payne when he suddenly addressed Duvalkan.
“Sir Duvalkan, are you free tomorrow evening?”
“Tomorrow?”
“Yes, in the evening.”
“Hmmm?”
Duvalkan’s sharp blue eyes, as clear as the sea, narrowed. He looked from Payne to Ashtel, clearly confused by the situation.
