The Succubus, The Priest, and His Fall Into Lustful Heat - Chapter 88
“Wait a minute…!”
Payne wasn’t a paladin or an exorcist priest, but there were plenty of clergy in the area with the power to defeat Ashtel. Individually, they might not be able to eliminate an Asti tree demon, but a group of dozens could easily cut off her arms and legs and bind her.
Payne was well aware of this—after all, Ashtel had realized it within just a month of working in Medialle.
That meant the divine power he wielded was the beginning of a path that could threaten Ashtel’s life. So, Ashtel gathered her magic, just as she had done earlier in the warehouse. Instantly.
“…”
“…”
She put Payne to sleep.
“Ahhh, I’m sorry, Payne!”
The dagger he had gripped like a lifeline fell limply onto the bed. At the same time, the naked Payne, who had wrapped a cloak around himself, tumbled to the floor without even the chance to cover his exposed ge–tals.
Startled by the dull thud that followed, Ashtel jumped and rushed towards Payne. Since she had released her transformation to use magic, her hair, now bright golden, settled over his chest.
‘What should I do?’
A silver knife was dangerous. Even a slight miscalculation could cause her skin to melt away. But that would only inflict pain; it couldn’t eliminate a demon.
The only true threat to demons was Katzel’s divine power. And just because someone had divine power didn’t mean that all priests could defeat demons. Just like forging a well-honed blade, they had to chip away at their own strength to create a weapon.
The ones wielding such weapons were the paladins outside the bedroom, not Payne. Therefore, Ashtel didn’t feel overly frightened, even though he was holding the dagger and pressing it against her neck.
Instead, she was contemplating how to resolve the situation. However, putting him to sleep was the worst-case scenario.
‘Even if I put him to sleep now, he’ll wake up later.’
And the same thing would happen again.
Confronted with Payne, who was clutching the cross and preparing to call for the paladin, Ashtel pondered as she felt around her arms.
Fortunately, Carmen’s magic bracelet was still there. She glanced between Payne and the sticky bedspread, took a deep breath.
Given the circumstances, she had no choice but to do something devilish.
* * *
Druruk, druruk.
In the late dawn, aside from the flickering candlelight provided by the divine power that decorated the corridor of Mediale, there was an eerie stillness. A woman was pulling a cart covered with a white cloth, breathing in the cold air.
The woman’s identity was the maid, Sue. In other words, she was currently a criminal committing a significant sin.
However, committing a crime wasn’t exactly a big deal for her. After all, for a demon, even breathing added layers of sin to their existence.
“Phew…”
Yet today, Ashtel felt the desire for atonement more than ever. In over a hundred years, she had never felt this strongly that she had done something ‘wrong’.
Inside the creaking cart lay Payne, his body folded carefully, covered by a blanket stained with their mixed fluids. She was fleeing the temple, hiding a grown man as if she had committed murder.
‘Thank goodness the paladins aren’t chasing me.’
Strangely enough, they seemed to have not come to Payne’s bedroom. Ashtel had intended to relieve his lust, so she had locked the door as soon as she entered. But she expected the powerful paladins to break down the door if Payne was missing for too long.
‘No one has looked for Payne all day. Why is that?’
This was somewhat puzzling. Or perhaps her true identity had been discovered? Ashtel glanced around anxiously. Yet the corridor was silent, with not even a single rat in sight. Moreover, she wore Carmen’s magical transparent bracelet, ensuring that even if someone were present, this secret operation wouldn’t be exposed.
Taking a deep breath, Ashtel quickened her pace. Her destination was, of course, her quaint and discreet little hut tucked away in a secluded area. There, she would have to consider how to treat Payne.
Naturally, it had to be in a way that wouldn’t harm him.
—Kill that man immediately.
However, it seemed her sister had a different opinion.
