The West Wind's Destination - Chapter 88
Aseph always spoke about love.
At times, he wanted to do everything for her, offering the most favorable conditions as he courted her, desperately wanting her by his side. Other times, he lamented how she could not understand love, stating that feeling love was different from understanding all phenomena in the world.
And all of this moved her heart.
And this time, he spoke of a dark obsession over possessing her no matter what, declaring he would become her master… yet he was quickly changing his stance again.
“I’ve heard there are alchemists in the West who wish to meet you. I will send you to them.”
And now, he said he would just let her go.
Bea guessed that this, too, was a form of love he spoke of.
She thought she would never understand such a thing. Perhaps it was natural not to know.
Love existed in such diverse forms, and all of them could be called love.
Aseph Vilkanos before her had poured all the love he was capable of into her.
So, had her heart moved as he wished? She wasn’t sure. To begin with, she didn’t understand her heart or how it could be moved.
But she felt like she knew what to do right now.
“Aseph.”
He turned his head. His beautiful eyes were brimming with moisture, shimmering brightly.
Bea moved closer to him. She cupped his cheek, much more haggard than Bea who had been lying in bed for days. As she toyed with his lips with her fingers, he looked puzzled yet tense.
As she leaned in, their lips met. He inhaled sharply. His trembling hand grasped her cheek. Like a shy tongue on a first kiss, he licked Bea’s lower lip.
When Bea parted her lips, he invaded softly, sweeping gently inside as Aseph wrapped his hand around the back of her neck.
Aseph’s moan, unheard during the rough kisses he led just moments ago, now filled the air.
The soft voice he couldn’t suppress as he delved deeper was pleasant to hear.
As Aseph tried to deepen the kiss, their position shifted back. She was laid down on the bed again with Aseph climbing on top, but the atmosphere was entirely different from just before.
After the tender and desperate kiss ended, Aseph detached his lips and looked down at her. He was breathing even more heavily than when he had forcefully explored her lips.
“Bea, do, do you really…?”
He seemed incredulous, seeking verbal confirmation.
Without responding, Bea wrapped her arms around Aseph’s neck. Even a slight pull brought his face surprisingly close to hers.
After staring at Bea for a while, Aseph, as if he couldn’t hold back, pressed his lips against hers again. Tiny kisses scattered all over her face.
“It tickles…”
“Me too, Bea. Your eyelashes are really long. Every time we kiss, your eyelashes touch me.”
“People from the desert usually are like that.”
It was natural to have long eyelashes to protect the eyes from sandstorms. Was that so special?
Yet, even with that brief explanation, Aseph smiled broadly.
“What’s so funny?”
“I’m happy. I like that you try to explain things to me. Isn’t that your way of showing kindness?”
“…I’ve never been told I’m kind before, except by you.”
“That’s because others don’t know you well enough.”
After nearly dying, maybe something went wrong with his head. From the moment Aseph Vilkanos met her, he called her a fairy, an angel, and now he says everyone would feel kindness from her.
Despite continuously hearing things that could drive one mad, it didn’t feel bad.
“Typically…”
“Yes, Bea.”
He shifted his attention from Bea’s face and began kissing each of her fingers, one by one.
“Typically, people would rather call you kind.”
“Am I kind?”
Aseph, who had been smiling the whole time, smiled even wider than before. Seeing that made Bea feel a flush on her face, so she looked away.
“Mhm…”
Aseph, clearly delighted, peppered kisses on Bea’s forehead. As he kissed her cheek, Aseph reached for the clothes he had torn but stopped, instead wrapping Bea up tightly with the sheet and stood up.
“Why?”
Aseph spoke with an embarrassed tone.
“I’ll bring you new clothes. The child was very worried about you. Many servants also waited for your safety. And I need to inform the alchemists from the West…”
“Then, you will not hold me now?”
“…”
Aseph looked at her with wide eyes. Their gazes locked, and he remained silent for a while. Soon, with a much less amused expression, he said,
“I might become… less kind.”
“Yes.”
Bea agreed, unsure of the expression she bore. The next moment, Aseph pounced on her like a predator on its prey.
Thanks to the tearing, not much of the sheet covered Bea’s body. As Aseph slowly removed the few remaining pieces of clothing on her lower body, his hands trembled greatly. When Bea placed her hand over his, Aseph sighed.
