The Wicked Wife's Dark History Keeps Coming Back To Haunt Her - Chapter 92
A legal consultation booth in this situation…
Handling a large crowd seemed impossible, and Ash couldn’t understand what his wife might be thinking.
Didn’t she originally say she would give a lecture?
“It’s better to see for myself than to hear an explanation a hundred times.”
If it wasn’t a matter of competition, he wouldn’t have to concern himself. However, it could potentially escalate into a matter of pride between the Bayern and Nord households, so he had to check it out.
With the thought that he might need to intervene from behind the scenes if the response was poor, he made his way to the coffeehouse.
“…So this is why you told me to come and see for myself?”
“Yes, well…”
Ash frowned as he observed Marsha handing out candy to passersby, trying to draw in customers.
“We’ve opened a legal consultation booth! Free consultations! If you need help, legal assistance, we’re here to help for free!”
It wasn’t an issue for a maid to do such things, but the problem was that his wife was standing right next to her.
‘Where has her noble dignity gone, doing something like this…’
Though she wasn’t openly soliciting like Marsha, the sight still left him dumbfounded, and he furrowed his brows in disbelief.
At that moment, a few scruffy children approached Nina.
“Huh?”
Hozi took a step forward, thinking she would undoubtedly turn the children away, and Ash followed suit, striding toward her.
“……”
But Nina smiled brightly and handed the children pieces of candy, one by one.
Her gaze as she looked down at the children was warm, and her smile was gentle.
“That’s unexpected. The Madam isn’t usually like this…”
Hozi tilted his head in curiosity.
Ash felt the same way.
The wife he knew would have shooed the children away, disgusted by their dirty hands.
But his prejudice about her had begun to waver at some point, and now, in this moment, it was being shaken once again.
…Could it be that… she wants children?
As her smile faded slightly into a bittersweet expression while she watched the children, he felt a strange tightness in his chest, like it was hard to breathe.
Then, suddenly, a group of men appeared, exchanged a few words with Nina, and followed her inside.
Watching the scene unfold, Hozi muttered in an intrigued tone,
“I wasn’t sure anyone would actually come for legal consultations, but surprisingly, there are.”
“Yes, as you said, there are customers after all.”
Though whether they came for actual consultations remained unclear.
Ash frowned as he watched Nina’s back disappear into the coffeehouse with the men and strode after her.
“Welco—oh! Y-Your Grace.”
Ash brushed past the startled Marsha.
Ding!
The doorbell rang as Nina, who had just finished serving drinks to the guests, turned around with a bright smile.
“Welco— Oh my, Honey?”
Ash approached Nina, subtly scanning the faces of the men she was with.
The disappointment on their faces at hearing her call him ‘Honey’ was all too evident.
There were always fools like this who didn’t know their place.
Ash sneered inwardly at the men who dared covet what they could never have and approached.
“Is there a problem?”
“No, as you can see, everything is running smoothly.”
Ash glanced around the interior.
It seemed the five men Hozi had mentioned were lawyers, each seated at a table and conducting consultations. A considerable number of people were waiting for their turn.
“Didn’t you say you were going to give a lecture?”
“That’s for tomorrow. To gather an audience, I need to start with promotion. A tea party is clearly recognizable as a tea party, but legal consultations aren’t as obvious.”
True, how would people who couldn’t even read know where to find a lecture?
“Today’s purpose is to let people know: ‘This is the kind of lecture I’ll be giving’.”
“Don’t you think it’s overly optimistic, considering Duchess Nord’s side is probably already packed?”
Compared to the attendees of the tea party, Nina’s clientele seemed modest at best.
Yet, why was she so calm?
“Don’t worry. I have a plan.”
Ash eyed her skeptically and asked again.

Erica
K Ash has been annoying me the entire trip. When will he stop with the attitude and negativity?! We’re already at chapter 92, yet they haven’t really flirted or had any real bonding together yet. Sure, they slept in the same room, and sure he said they could try and be “friends, but it seems like no matter how much she’s changed, he’s still constantly criticizing her in his thoughts AND to her face. He acts jealous when he has no right to be, and is still blaming her for things she didn’t do. I’m starting to get fed up with him, his old excuse of “she used to be screwed up” is no longer valid at this point. He’s making his way to a red flag with each passing chapter. WHEN WILL HE CHANGE?!
