This Three-Year-Old Is A Villainess - Chapter 219
Ragon’s focus shifted in and out as he looked at me.
“Ragon, I believe in you. You’ll keep your promise to me.”
I kept speaking calmly and patiently.
Eventually, my image fully reflected in Ragon’s eyes. The madness that had taken over his gaze gradually faded, little by little, until he began to look as gentle as usual.
“That’s it. Good boy.”
Feeling reassured, I reached out toward Ragon.
Kyak… kyaak…
“Yes, you’re such a good boy, Ragon—”
Just as Ragon retracted his stance and prepared to settle down,
“Kyaaah—!”
A piercing scream erupted from behind me.
A palace maid was screaming so hard her forehead veins were bulging.
‘Really, after I went through all this trouble to calm him down, now she goes and agitates him again?’
While panic is understandable at the sight of a monster, she’s still a palace maid. They receive at least some training for emergencies, so her disruption was more than irritating.
But the real problem wasn’t the maid.
The scream had drawn the attention of knights, who were now running our way.
Judging by the emblem on their uniforms, they were palace knights here to guard the imperial family.
“Monster!”
The palace knights immediately assumed a defensive stance upon spotting Ragon. They began to encircle him.
Srrrng—!
At the sight of swords being drawn with a metallic sound, I gasped.
‘Those are…!’
Embedded in the sword hilts were stones emitting a peculiar light. I recognized the stones instantly.
Sacred stones.
These were stones meant for vanquishing monsters.
If Ragon is struck by those swords, he’ll be reduced to ashes.
‘No!’
I rushed over to the knight who had raised his sword to strike Ragon.
“No! Ragon has regained his senses! He saw me and recognized me!”
I clung to the knight’s arm, pleading.
“What—”
“It’s true! Look, Ragon’s only crying now—he’s not attacking anyone.”
“To me, he still seems quite threatening.”
“Kyaaah! Monster! Kyaa! Aah! Aaah! The monster’s trying to kill me!”
The maid was still wailing uncontrollably, even though Ragon had already distanced himself and wasn’t even looking her way.
“Please look closely, Sir Knight. Right now, Ragon is—”
“Enough! Stop bothering me and move aside!”
The knight forcefully shook me off.
“Ugh!”
And he wasn’t just any adult man—he was a palace knight.
Pushed away by the knight, I tumbled to the ground.
Seeing me fall, Ragon’s eyes sharpened.
Kaaak!
With a roar full of fury, Ragon shot into the air.
In an instant, he swooped down, aiming at the knight.
Bang—!
With a tremendous crash, Ragon was slammed to the ground.
Though nothing was visibly restraining him, he struggled as if something was pressing him down, his wings flapping wildly.
‘Is this… Grandfather?’
When Grandfather uses his blessing of <Gravity>, it looks exactly like this.
I quickly turned my head.
Grandfather was approaching with a few retainers, some relatives, and Former Princess Anatoli.
Viscount Debussy glanced around, frowning.
“What on earth…”
Anatoli ran over to the maid sprawled on the ground, sobbing.
“What happened?”
“When… when I saw a strange shadow looming near Your Highness’s bedroom, I went to check, and there… there was a monster…”
“What?”
“As soon as it saw me, it attacked… I barely managed to escape and ran here to the forest!”
“My bedroom? And it attacked when it was discovered?”
Anatoli’s brow furrowed as she turned her gaze.
Everyone who frequented the ducal estate knew that Ragon was my monster.
All eyes turned toward me.
***
The ducal estate was in an uproar.
The imperial officials, responsible for managing the jurisdiction, were especially incensed, their faces red with anger.
“What kind of security does this duchy maintain, exactly?!”
“You’re harboring monsters in a place where members of the imperial family are welcomed? Are you out of your minds?”
“What if it had attacked not a maid, but the former princess herself?”
“And why was a monster near the former princess’s chambers in the first place?”
“This doesn’t feel like an accident; it seems quite deliberate.”
“Are you going to remain silent in a situation like this?! Answer us!”
They were causing a commotion as if they had found some ammunition against us.
The circumstances justified their outrage, but it seemed their satisfaction at cornering Duke Astra was even greater.
As Uncle Valdrich was forced to endure the officials’ relentless pressure, he began to tremble with barely suppressed rage.
Then, he turned to glare at me in the center.
“What the hell did you do?”
The other uncles also looked at me with disapproving gazes.
